Of course they ruin my life, they’re such amazing men! (Daniel Brühl included) 😍🥰♥️♥️♥️
Astronaut comes from the Greek words Star and Sailor 😊
The inventor of liquid soap is now paralyzed....from slipping in the shower....🙃
When you snap your fingers the sound doesn't come from your fingers rubbing together it comes from your middle finger hitting your palm 🤔
It’s my favourite time of the day!! Learn with Amber 😍 I love all of these facts!!
I always thought Astronaut was a word from Latin or Greek. Because every cool word is.
Well I don’t know how many times I’ve slipped in the shower tbh 🙄 but that was a so random fact. And that’s sad for that person.
You should just have seen how many times I snapped my fingers just to see if the sound was from hitting the palm—which it was. It was a woah moment for me there 😂
OMGGG I SWEAR TO GOD THIS IS THE BEST THING EVERRRR

In the dead of the night, right between 1:30am and 2:30am the barrier between Earthly and unearthly creature's realm was weak.
If one knew how, they'd easily slip through the crack and explore the other world, only to leave before the clock struck 2:25. Some chose to stay in their other worlds, going back and forth and some chose to let themselves have an hour of freedom.
I never messed with the barriers, but if I peeked out the windows of my building I could see a chink open up midair and I could see those unearthly beings step out. They would enter with big curious eyes and brisk steps. It soon became a need of mine to watch this go down.
It was always quiet and the roads were always empty, our world knew of the wanderers. Our world feared them. Our world had imbeciles attempt to conquer them, some who never made it out, telling us all we needed to know.
When they came, I'd watch, quickly understanding that there was no use following them, they walked swiftly and silently, the soft smattering of their footsteps barely audible. I'd wait and watch, in awe of their ease to rip a hole in our world and step in. They'd revel in their hour of liberation every night.
Sometimes I'd walk out, to feel the ripples of the perturbed air underneath my finger tips, to smell the gentle breeze of the other world that had escaped when the barrier was cut open. I didn't do it often, though I wanted to.
There was something so intoxicating about the other world. I wanted to know how to open the barriers, to know how to step into the ominous world where the skies were told to always be in between dusk and dawn and the sun and moon were one and where the air tasted like metal yet smelled like ecstasy.
All of our kind who had gone there for more than a day had returned wild, lust driven with battered lips shredded by bite marks and punctured necks.
They spoke of creatures who did that to them, who’d do the same to us if they left the other side.
They babbled about how men and women would walk towards them slowly, longing and hunger swirling in their eyes.
They talked about how they had slinked in and out of the shadows, how they looked almost translucent, how their skin rivalled the dusty beam of our moon. How their hair flowed and fluttered in the wind, how their words flowed out like warm syrup, hot and slowly.
They called them vampires and wrote books about them, books that were shoved away and labelled as ramblings of madmen.
It was a Friday and it had been a month since I’d experienced the Aftermath of the opening, and I was already craving the high. I hid in alleyways and waited for them to arrive and go their own separate ways.
When they arrived I tasted the air go from polluted and Earthy to sweet and addicting, I never knew how strong it was straight after their arrival.
I gasped, trying to gulp down the air. I tasted immortality. I stumbled, reaching out for nothing and exhaled.
My meek attempts at grasping a surface had failed, yet, I felt gaps in the air, gaps that glowed lightly and dripped with gold liquid resembling honey. Tears. They were tears of both our worlds combined, crying at the pain of being cut open, multiple tiny little holes being punctured in the atmosphere with the intensity of the waves.
Opening barriers made our universe silently cry, dropping sickly sweet sap to plead for forgiveness for an act it didn't commit yet, still got punished for. I swiped the thick, gold nectar off the gap and suppressed the urge to taste it.
It was agony and I knew that tasting it would lead me into a spiral, making me forget the purpose of being here.
I wiped it on the brick wall, watched it fizzle and burn the patch till all that was left were golden ashes slithering into the air.
I peeked, looking to see if the small crowd that usually formed had dispersed or not, looking to see if it was safe for me yet.
Instead I found a figure in the distance, head to toe in black, who walked with a practised ease towards where the barrier had just been. They were familiar with the area. They felt calming, comforting. I took light steps towards the Aftermath. Catching their attention.
Her hood slipped from her head, revealing her face. She had high cheekbones and a sharp nose, soft lips and siren eyes. Her hair fell into her face, soft threads of black slipping like raindrops to cover bits of her face.
She looked like the kind of woman who pained poets would write tragic ballads about, verse after verse of not being able to ever hold her. Taste her. Touch her. She was divine.
When her eyes met mine I felt chills run up my spine. There was something inhuman about the way her pupils swallowed her irises, yet I brushed it off, too enchanted by her. She took a few steps towards me and reached a hand out.
“I'm hungry. Do you live nearby?”
Her voice was hoarse, as though she hadn't taken a sip of water, ever. Suddenly the paleness of her skin made sense and I clumsily hurried forward to grab her hand and lead her towards my apartment.
We made it to my apartment in record time. I settled her on the couch and went to go to the kitchen to get her a glass of water. When I went out she was lying on the couch, arm over her eyes. I shook her gently and handed her the water. One sip and she was spitting it onto my floor.
“Thats bitter as fuck. Our water’s better.”
That's when I realised that I had messed up. I'd let a stranger into my apartment and I did not even give it a second thought. I had been consumed with her and let her in with abandon. The madmen were right, and maybe not as mad as they'd been presumed to be.
She gently placed the glass down on my table and stalked over to me, her full lips being contorted into a sickly sweet smile. Her hand grazed mine and snaked its way up my arm, leaving a trail of fire behind her. She was barely touching me, hovering her lithe fingers over my arm at a snail's pace. I'd been staring at her hand, trying to not let the fire she was setting in me devour me. Her hand reached my shoulder and glided over my collarbones, this time touching me. Her fingers prodded my skin lightly.
She was warm, yet cold. Middle. Just like everything in her world, she too was straddling the line between everything. Not cold, yet not warm. Not alive, yet not dead.
She skirted her fingers over and around my neck, hands tangling in my hair and tugging slightly.
“I'm starving, and I'm going to feed off you. But say the word and I'll stop.”
I exhaled, knowing I'd regret what I'd say next. I was already far too deep. This wasn't fear, this was desire. And I knew it. I'd already been eaten up by the fire and I loved it.
“Do it.”
With that she grabbed a handful of my hair and tugged me back gently, baring my neck towards her. I felt her sharp teeth graze the skin of my jaw, sliding lower and lower till she reached my neck. It left a red hot trail of adrenaline behind.
When she reached her designated spot, she ran her tongue across. It felt like a whisper as she marked her target. She sank her teeth into the supple flesh of my neck with a low groan, guzzling up my blood greedily. Her teeth left my neck and her tongue circled the puncture marks left behind, not wanting to waste even a drop of my essence.
Emily raised her head to meet my eyes, hands still tangled up in my hair. My eyes drifted down to her lips, still coated in my blood. She leaned forward, heavy breath against my lips.
“Can I?”
“Please.”
And then she kissed me.
Emily tasted like the soft mist of the night, blood and blasphemy.
I knew I would never go back after this sinful act, because how could I return from the feeling of her cold lips and her curious tongue on mine?
How could this act of damnation feel so holy?
How could her acts, ones of true evil not leave a mark on her?
And how could I ever return to who I was before I was tainted by her?
She breathed metallic, blood-weighed puffs of air into my mouth. It tasted sweet, mixed in with her natural flavour. She pulled away slightly, removing her hand from my hair and rubbing her thumb over the bite marks. She was guilty, remorse flooding her hooded eyes.
I'd never forget it though, the whisper of her lips on mine still remaining and tingling prominently.
It was like a greeting, one of sorrow, one that promised a painful goodbye.
She checked the clock, eyes widening before she shuffled around and left. I was too dazed to process what happened. As soon as I came to, I began rushing over to the window in hopes of seeing her one last time.
I saw her fizzle away alongside the rest of her kind, leaving barely any reminders of her being here. Just my neck for proof.
This time, when the worlds cried, I did too.
***
I waited days for her to return, yet she never did. I stayed at my windows, voyeuristically creeping around 1 and 3 am looking for her.
I gave up after a week, lying in my bed and hearing my wispy curtains share news of my failure with the wind. I was curled up in my bed when a knock hit my door and echoed in my empty apartment.
I trudged my way towards the door, the scuffling of my shoes sounding like shrieks in my ears. I opened the door with a sigh, only to look up and see Emily in all her glory. My anger faded away at the hefty bag in her hand.
“Sorry I'm late, mind if I stay?”
