I think it was about time I introduced tumblr to my book Crowley... who eventually became a walking love letter to Latino culture lmao

(You can think of him as a Book Crowley who spent way too much time in south america)

Language wise, he's an amalgamation of all latin american spanish dialects (+pt-br) so,, have fun translating some of the things he's saying

Slayers 17: The Long Road Home

Volume 17 is TOTALLY complete! Much like the title it’s been a long road getting here and so much has happened to Slayers between just chapters 3 and 4. I am totally amazed to have completed 250 pages worth of translation. Once again hugs and shoutouts to my assistants ShinGreywords (not on Tumblr sadly) and @naiokiara, and extra special thanks to @savvyliterate​ for the pitch-hit editing job. Ya’ll are freakin’ amazing and I could not put out such quality work or done it at all really without ya.

Hi, I have unusual but important ask:). Could you do close up gifs or pictures of that food on the table in Ritz? When ineffable husbands are on dates and I would like to know what they are eating or having on the table. So far I haven´t been able to recognize much, just some tea and wine. Or do you have more information about this issue? Thank you for answer.

Their first Ritz visit we see (episode 1):

Two glasses of wine, two coffees and Aziraphale seems to be finishing some kind of a dessert that unfortunately seems to be too eaten to identify :/ :D. 

Their other visit though (episode 6), oh yes, much better! :)

A lof of things, right? So what are they?

I was thinking that there was a possibility the crew ordered the food at the restaurant - now, we’ve got to keep in mind that the Ritz was not shot actually at the Ritz, but at the Criterion (known as Savini at Criterion since 2015). Unfortunately the restaurant is closed since 2018 and they webpages no longer work but I managed to find the menus from 2017 when the Good Omens series was shot and look! :)

Crowley and Aziraphale had the ‘Champagne/Martini Afternoon Tea’:

CHAMPAGNE / MARTINI AFTERNOON TEA - Scones with selection of jams and clotted cream, finger sandwiches, pastry and biscuits served with a glass of champagne.

(I kind of wish the restaurant wasn’t closed so I could save some money, someday travel there and treat myself to this - it does look amazing, doesn’t it? :))

Going back to their first visit I browsed though the Criterion dessert pics trying to identify it but had no luck. These are the desserts from the menu, so it could be one of them :)

Finally, in episode 2 (filmed at Penge Cafe, London):

Aziraphale is eating an angel cake. :)

And because in the book is the sentence: Aziraphale helped himself to Crowley’s slice of angel cake., my headcannon is that Crowley ordered it, ate that lil’ corner bit, and then gave it to Aziraphale :).

Literally all the saving of humans all the time

Quality Time:

Always taking his Angel out on dates for food and wine (their respective faves)

Low whistle - gestures - table for 2 waiting for a little break from all that hard meeting organising

Clearly craves Aziraphael's company throughout all of time so they keep 'bumping into each other'

Physical touch:

You know the ones! He can't help but touch Crowley any chance he gets

The Angel just wants to be held so badly

Word of Affirmation:

Always telling his Demon he's good and nice and kind

I've lost count of how many times he says this and I really think Crowley laps it up! Despite always denying it

"I need you!"

Face lights up in joy whenever Crowley compliments him

If you're into the Love Languages (I just think they're a bit of fun) you might argue that part of their problem is they aren't aware of each other's preferred Languages so each goes in satisfied in their relationship. Perhaps an exception with Words of Affirmation I think they both make an effort with that one.
