I'd better get a good explanation for why Thrawn didn't take the Chiss fleet with him and blow Palpatine's evil planet into space. The sith fleet would've been in the beginning of its production process, making it the perfect time to strike, and Palpameme wasn't even on the planet to do inexplicable Force Magic, aka Thrawn's only weakness.

Unless, of course, that explanation is that the writers really didn't think the plot through, and are only drawing the connections now after TROS, and instead of the Far Outsiders and the cool alien invaders the big damn threat from the Unknown Regions is now going to be the stupid sith fleet whose very existence is going to be one hell of a challenge for the writers to justify. So much for Timothy Zahn trying his damndest to bring as much of the old canon back as possible. The founding father of star wars novels did not deserve this.
