I don’t know what else to do with this one so here it is

When I first saw Julian I was like “ohhh who is this man with a mysterious eyepatch?? mama like.” and then 2 seconds into the game Asra showed up and I was like “oh no I’m in love”. 🤷‍♀️ typical. ✨

I feel that so much of Lucio is performative, and mixed with his inability to understand himself or others it makes a terrible combination.

He is acting on what he thinks others want and what he should be. He creates lavish parties and coliseum battles because he sees the feedback of thousands of excited adoring citizens. He buys gaudy and over the top things because that’s the commoners view of nobility. (That’s why Nadia, who grew up as a princess, sees his interests shallow. To her and others in the court he’s a shallow mockery of what a noble is. To him, he’s doing his best to try and fit in but he doesn’t truly understand what he’s trying to fit into.) hell, he even changes his name to Lucio, a name he considers fancy (fancier than Lorenzo) in order to recreate his image.

One thing that I love in his route is that once he stops trying to put up an act, that’s when he starts to make friends. Asra and Nadia have known him for years but seem to genuinely enjoy him when he begins to act like his true self. This entire time HE was a person worthy of love, and he didn’t need to put on an act to earn it.
