I Just Dont Understand Where This Concept Of Fake Geek Girls Came From. Like, AT ALL.
I just don’t understand where this concept of ‘fake geek girls’ came from. Like, AT ALL.
Cus when I look for fandom related stuff like 90% of the fan art and the fanfiction and the meta, zines, comics, etc. Like 90% of the shit that I’ve seen is created by women & girls.
And all that stuff take’s a lot of work and research and critical analysis and staring at reference photos for hours.
We are literally the most well versed and invested group in the fandom. So, like, What the fuck boys? You mad you can’t keep up?

Something about The Rise of Skywalker feels hollow, but not completely hollow. Solo felt hollow, but I couldn’t figure out why. Rogue One didn’t feel hollow.
Part of that is probably a personal factor. Would I have felt differently about Solo at age 12, or would I have forgotten it as not sufficiently transcendent to be worth that portion of my remaining lifespan? I certainly wouldn’t have phrased it that way, but would I have that as some indescribable feeling?

Ok but Zuko using the knowledge he acquired during his banishment to help him as the Fire Lord. Like making small talk with Earth Kingdom dignitaries about their local foods that he enjoyed and even misses. Like having in-depth conversations with his captains about sea currents and navigation. Like, in the middle of a meeting with several high-ranking naval officials, pointing out flails in security, like how a person can cling to a Fire Nation ship for hours at a time, or climb aboard using hatches on the upper decks, or disguise themselves as a lower ranking guard with easily accessible spare armour….
Though none of his experiences can prepare Zuko for the long, awkward silence that comes after he admits to doing or at least knowing something illegal and/or completely buck wild
Hi! If you're still taking requests for the headcanons meme, can I suggest Percy Jackson? Thanks!
Anonymous asked:
Gutcanon for Percy Jackson (the character) for the askmeme please!!
Anyway, my life got hectic and I haven’t gotten to Mark of Athena yet, so here bear with me here folks.

Percy isn’t a book-smart genius like Annabeth, but he’s also not actually stupid. He suffers from a severe case of everyone has been a dick about his learning disabilities his entire life. Annabeth gets him a couple audiobooks for his birthday one year, after he discovers that holy shit, he can do chores if he listens to something interesting, and suddenly Percy is burning through marine biology like fire on an oil slick. Classrooms are never going to be his strong suit, but he figures out how to thread headphones through his shirt so they don’t get caught on anything and destroys training dummies for three hours while he’s listening to a book about the development of study methods for whale migration habits or something. Annabeth gets to be the one on the receiving end of a tirade about a niche subject she doesn’t understand for a change. She’s weirdly charmed by the experience–Percy’s old for his age and tired by a lot of things and it’s good to see him light up like this.
Also, she realizes suddenly why Percy stares at her mouth a lot when she talks about architecture. She has no idea what he’s talking about with this octopus war in the Great Barrier Reef but it’s extremely sexy to watch.
Heartcanon
Percy really is Poseidon’s favorite son. It’s not something Poseidon bandies about–he tries to keep it pretty quiet, actually, hoping to protect Percy from the backlash–but the way that Percy combines an apparently sincere disinterest in accumulating power for power’s sake with an absolutely vicious determination to achieve his goals at pretty much any cost is…it appeals, to the god of the sea. The sea is not ambitious. As long as you remember its power and remain on the right side of luck, the sea is not seeking to overrun you just for the sake of dominion. The sea simply is, and always has been, and always will be, and will not be caged or controlled.
Poseidon has had a lot of children, and he has loved many of them, and he does not think he has seen one who is quite so much the Son of the Sea God as Percy Jackson.
He watches Percy take the whole of Olympus to task, risks his neck against Zeus’ uncertain temper as he accuses the gods of negligence, and underneath the first prideful stirring of offense, he wishes that Percy had taken the godhood. It would be good to be able to gloat about his son, secure in the knowledge that Percy was too powerful to be harmed.
