“What’s the most unexpected thing you have ever done?”
Jungkook’s question caught you off guard, making you blink twice before turning your head to look at him, wondering if he had really spoken those words out loud. Things were strange on the hood of his car, the silence between the two of you had been too thick for too long, and even the wind had ceased its run amongst the leaves, expectant to hear your response. All around you, the blue sky expanded like a soft blanket, and yet all that you could see was him.
“What do you mean?” You asked back.
He shifted around a little, suddenly looking uncomfortable. You noticed that you had never seen Jungkook embarrassed like that, and something strange switched inside your chest — a weird type of apprehension, perhaps. “You know, what’s the most unexpected thing you have ever done?” Jungkook repeated the question as if that was going to clarify something, then caught his own mistake and explained it better. “Like, a thing that happened that you never thought would happen to you, and then you had to do something about it.”
“Oh.” You blinked again, taking in his words. You turned your head back so you could look at the world beyond the two of you, the beautiful view of the city many meters below. It was a secret little spot just beyond the town’s limits, up a hill where you two could escape from daily problems. And yet it seemed that something got brought along with the two you, like a stone in your shoe. “I… don’t know actually. That’s kind of specific.”
He chuckled, uneasy. “Yeah, I guess. You can think about it.”
You nodded. “Yeah, I will,” you said, turning back to him. “What about you?”
“What?”
“What’s the most unexpected thing you have ever done?” You asked back.
Jungkook wasn’t stupid, he knew that you were going to throw that question right back at him — a boomerang hitting him right on the forehead, making him lose his composure for a second too long. He also knew that his brain would fill in the blanks before he could hold himself back, the heartache that has been plaguing him for a while now taking hold of his mind. It wasn’t a scream reverberating in his skull, more like a soft whisper, a mumbled secret that he was too afraid to let out: I guess it was falling in love with you.
“I don’t know,” he answered instead, a forced chuckle leaving his chest. “Guess I’ve done a lot of shit.”
You smiled — that beautiful, overwhelming smile that stole all the air from his lungs. He wanted to tell you, he really did. He could feel it crawling its way up his throat, burning like the sun inside his stomach. But he just couldn’t. Not now. “It’s okay, you can tell me later. I’ll think about it too.”
And Jungkook could only nod, because there hadn’t been one second in the past few weeks that he hadn’t thought about it.

News pt2!
Uhm ... this fic is getting longer and longer. I just keep getting inspired and adding stuff to it, but it’s just not flowing right to me anymore. So I decided to make it into a series instead of a two-parts story!
Watch out for Spotlight every Friday!
Chapter 1 coming on the 28th just as planned!
Luv ya!

when your life became a screamer | ‘not a phase’ collab
summary: after your best friend finds a box of memorabilia from your college days, you relay the story of a whirlwind romance that lasted a single night with one stranger, kim taehyung.
pairing: taehyung x reader genre: past love au, fluff word count: 10.8k tags/warnings: aside from frivolous living, no warnings, just fluff
read everyone’s stories here! collab hosted by @suhdays, thank you so much mo for putting this together!
thank you @thevintagefangirl for beta reading & @yoongsgguktae for helping me with the ending <3
a/n: finally! everyone worked so hard/is working hard and it was a lot of fun to be apart of this. good charlotte was the first band I really loved, I still remember the first time I got to see them in concert. my story is inspired by their song screamer. enjoy~

The scent of fresh paint lingers in your nose as you bring in the last box, your best friend trailing in behind you with an armful of your clothes you were too lazy to remove from the hangers. A clattering noise echoes up into the space of the vaulted ceilings when she drops them on top of your sofa, followed by tired sighs. After a long day of moving your things from a crowded apartment with 4 roommates, you could finally steep in the emptiness of your own place. Plain, white walls and a small living space in need of your personal touch, it wouldn’t be long before new memories filled the place.
“Please tell me you have cold beer in the fridge,” Rose groans, dragging her feet into the kitchen which was only a step away from the living room.
You laugh, “that’s probably all I have, I need to go to the store before it closes,” you mumble out the rest, checking the time on your phone.
She sings praises to some make-believe deity, grabbing another for you and opening them. Turning around to find an empty room, she hears you moving things around in your bedroom.
“Take a break, will you?” Her tone comes out with more disapproval than she intends but it misses your ears. You are determined to map out the future haven this bedroom will become. Rose shrugs, setting your beer down on the floor next to a small stack of boxes. She sits near it, pulling them to her while you hang up what clothes you can.
“This might be a problem,” you mumble, wondering how you’ll fit your clothes into the tiny space in the wall meant to be a closet.
She chuckles, opening one of the boxes to help you unpack, briefly reading the scribble at the top, ‘MISC.’ written in permanent marker.
“Want me to take this stuff out?” She asks and you look without much care, still troubled over the closet space.
The first thing inside the box catches her eye and left to be forgotten is her beer she so desired; “hubba hubba, hello?” Rose takes the picture out, admiring the subject of said picture before looking up at you.
This time, she has your attention causing you to cock an eyebrow at the smirk on her face; “what?” You laugh.
She turns the picture around and no further explanation is needed. Your heart flutters upon seeing the person in the photo, drawing you like an alley cat to a dumpster.
“Oh wow,” you can’t help but giggle, taking the picture from her, “where did you find this?”
“This box, who is this?” She is quick to investigate when you sit across from her, the marked box sitting as a barrier between the two of you.

Let’s get quizzical

Summary: Thursday night pub quizzes with your friends are a must. One of those friends being your long-term friend, long-term crush, Park Jimin. At this point 99.9% of the population knows you have feelings towards him, Jimin being the 0.01% that doesn’t. But what happens when a bet goes wrong and your weekly quizzes become more complicated than fun?
Pairing: Jimin x reader
Genre: friends to lovers; fluff; angst; smut
Word count: 28.6k
Warnings: Safe sex, oral (female receiving), ANGST, a lot of feelings, drinking, bad jokes, a lot of dodgy quiz questions.
Authors Note: This has taken me a hot minute to write, but I really enjoyed it and am really proud of it. The summary was almost impossible to write without giving everything away, so I apologise if it doesn’t do the story justice. I hope that you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it! Hoping you have the best day and sending you all the love :)

“Question 9: who is Chancelor Johnathan Bennett?”
“Chancellor of the exchequer?” Jin jumps in before the question has finished being asked.
“Chancelor is his name not job title,” you roll your eyes. “Could be a local MP though?”
“Bit niche for a pub quiz? And what MP is going to be called Chancelor?” Jimin chips in, eyes on you.
“You’d be surprised what some of those wanker, Eaton educated, Conservatives are called,” Jin says and immediately holds up his hands in defence, though no one scolds him.
“We must have a better answer than local MP,” Connie sighs, ever the sensible one.
“It’s Chance the Rapper,” Yoongi says before taking a sip of his beer, having already scribbled the answer down.
“See I told you Yoongi would be good,” Jin pats Yoongi on that back, which only causes the scowl on Yoongis face to deepen.

Tips for Writing a Difficult Scene
Every writer inevitably gets to that scene that just doesn't want to work. It doesn't flow, no matter how hard you try. Well, here are some things to try to get out of that rut:
1. Change the weather
I know this doesn't sound like it'll make much of a difference, but trust me when I say it does.
Every single time I've tried this, it worked and the scene flowed magically.
2. Change the POV
If your book has multiple POV characters, it might be a good idea to switch the scene to another character's perspective.
9/10 times, this will make the scene flow better.
3. Start the scene earlier/later
Oftentimes, a scene just doesn't work because you're not starting in the right place.
Perhaps you're starting too late and giving too little context. Perhaps some description or character introspection is needed before you dive in.
Alternatively, you may be taking too long to get to the actual point of the scene. Would it help to dive straight into the action without much ado?
4. Write only the dialogue
If your scene involves dialogue, it can help immensely to write only the spoken words the first time round.
It's even better if you highlight different characters' speech in different colors.
Then, later on, you can go back and fill in the dialogue tags, description etc.
5. Fuck it and use a placeholder
If nothing works, it's time to move on.
Rather than perpetually getting stuck on that one scene, use a placeholder. Something like: [they escape somehow] or [big emotional talk].
And then continue with the draft.
This'll help you keep momentum and, maybe, make the scene easier to write later on once you have a better grasp on the plot and characters.
Trust me, I do this all the time.
It can take some practice to get past your Type A brain screaming at you, but it's worth it.
So, those are some things to try when a scene is being difficult. I hope that these tips help :)
