I'm still working on the story, but basically, Mike is trying to recover his siblings. After the events at the fnaf 2 location, he realized wearing a mask made the animatronics less murdery. So he started wearing his old Foxy mask, which darkened in color from time. As for Golden, after the bite of 83, the suit was tossed in a backroom. The blood, which was smeared while trying to get the head out, wasn't even washed off. Over the years, Golden's parts would be taken for other animatronics. By the time the main four from fnaf 1 find them, they're just a torso and head. They recover what they can and repair Golden. These designs are what Mike and Golden look like when they first meet.

I've been reading the novel of Kotm, and I love Kong's reaction to Ghidorah's call. It's basically the equivalent to a politician giving a speech on TV, and Kong is just a tired rancher going, "Turn off that damn TV! All that yappin is drawing out the rattlers and coyotes!", as he loads his shotgun to fight off the skullcrawlers. Never change Kong, never change.
