What is an Indigo Child?

Also referred to as a starseed, an indigo child is a person who has come into this world destined to create change and spiritually awaken humanity. There are many kinds of star seeds, but this particular kind of star seeds are considered to be free thinkers with profound insight into the human condition, critical thinking, and an ability to see the truth clearly. indigo children find it hard to fit into mainstream society and often become misunderstood, rejected, or misdiagnosed and medicated. The indigo child is also thought to possess strong intuition and varying spiritual gifts such as the ability to communicate with spirit guides or see visions.

1 You are confused by how people can be so rude

Indigo children are identified because they are born with more empathy than past generations. At times, they can feel like they’re a totally different species because unlike so many other people, they can’t compartmentalize their feelings enough to treat people badly for an extended period of time.

2. Your emotions are stronger than most people

Whatever emotion you are feeling in the current moment, you feel it fully. Indigo children have “advanced emotions.” They can be diagnosed with a mood or personality disorder because of their inability to control their emotions. (that doesn’t mean you can’t)

Indigo children are starseeds who are here to help humanity, so you may feel inclined to put others before you. Just remember, to take care of someone else properly you have to take care of you first.

While indigo children are highly intelligent, the way their mind works doesn’t conform to traditional ways of thinking. They don’t do well with rigid structure, because they don’t understand the need for it. Take an indigo child who is struggling in a traditional school into a less structured school and they will thrive. This is why it’s common to see indigo children who are voracious readers (curious and intelligent) but who have trouble reading what is assigned for their classes. For them to be successful, they have to be somewhat self-directed.

5. You’ve always had a strong desire to understand how things work.

One of the main indicators of an indigo child is someone born with a much higher than normal sense of curiosity. Indigo children want to understand everything. They are the kids who can’t stop asking ‘why?’ While others will accept a trope answer, indigos want to dig below the surface until they truly understand the thing in question. They may take things apart and study things closely.

You feel alone in a room full of people, and you can’t seem to click with people right away because of how different you feel from them.

Indigo children know already deep down what the afterlife is like, and they can’t seem to click with religions that go against what the indigo child experience prior to earth life. If they are religious, it wouldn’t be traditional.

It’s natural that people as open-minded as indigo children would be interested in topics most people are closed to. They love learning about other explanations for the world around them, knowing how incomplete our current answers are.

10. You don’t inherently respect authority.

Indigo children aren’t ones to be disrespectful, but they don’t respect a rule simply because it’s a rule. They want to understand why it’s a rule, and then, if it makes sense, the indigo child will respect it. If it does not make sense, the indigo is stubborn and can be seen as rebellious or radical.

11. You feel like you are older than people your age

Indigo children often feel out of place when they are young because they are not from human origin. Indigo souls tend to be more evolved, so naturally your human body will follow suit.

While this can cause problems early on, generally indigos figure out how to cope will always feeling a little bit like an outsider.

Society is scared of people who are a little bit different, so we often try to give them a medical diagnosis to explain away their different way of being. Indigo children are commonly diagnosed with ADHD and autism. It may be a correct diagnosis for some, but for others it may just be about our inability to accept new ways of thinking.

13. You are a gifted storyteller.

Indigo children are known for their incredible imaginations. Whether it’s inventing a story to tell your a little kid or keeping people entertained while talking about your day, no one can tell a story quite like you.

14. Common fears don’t seem to scare you as much

You aren’t quite sure why people are afraid of spiders or aliens. Indigos tend to be scared of natural disasters and a man made apocalypse.

Sure you want to be financially stable, and many the job you want happens to pay that much. But you don’t look at rich people and get upset that you aren’t them. You don’t feel like paper should rule your life. In fact, you straight up know that it is bad.

Indigo children are all creative people. They think about things in a more abstract way than the typical human mind, and they tend to have creative hobbies like making music, painting, ceramics, dancing or playing an instrument.
