There's something that we all know about Penelope & Colin but it has to be said OUT LOUD in season 3.

Penelope sacrificed hers (and her family's) reputation for Colin.

She shamed her family because she loved this man, she cared about his happiness, she did everything she could so he doesn't end up trapped in a loveless marriage.

And Colin needs to hear that, Colin needs to see that, he needs to understand.

I don't care what you think about the whole Marina situation, you might think Pen was wrong for doing it and I'm not gonna argue with you, but you simply can't ignore this simple fact.

She didn't do it out of spite, out of jealousy, she tried talking everyone out of it and when noone listened, she had no other choice to protect her friend.

Howgh.

Ok yeah first post whatever shut up I have to talk about Bridgerton season 3 because I fully believe that it is going to CHANGE THE GAME. I have watched so very many movies and tv shows, particularly romantic ones, and I’m quite certain that there have NEVER been this many eyes on a show that prominently features a plus size woman being the romantic lead and doing sex scenes. AND ITS GOING TO BE SO BEAUTIFUL.

Every day I get more curious, anxious, and excited. The next 41 days cannot pass quickly enough.

It’s ironic because it’s attitudes like that that make Penelope’s story so relatable that it’s bringing in a brand new audience for season 3 just to watch her fall in love and be treated as a sexual and desirable woman. Literally making the show’s point

Colin realizing it doesn’t matter how the world sees Pen because HE sees Pen, and his love for her making it more and more absurd to him that other people can’t see her the way he does will always be more beautiful to me than the idea that Colin only starts to realize Pen is a catch because some other man comes along. The first is about his internal personal growth and surrendering to his own personal desires instead of just following whatever society and other men say he should want, and the other is about competing with other men and a scarcity mindset.

All the recent Bridgerton season 3 promo has inspired me to reread my favourite bits of Romancing Mister Bridgerton.

One of my favourite motifs in this book is Colin being flabbergasted at how amazing Penelope is, and not understanding why others don't see it.

She was a siren, a goddess, and he wondered how on earth no one had ever noticed this before.

There's also this one:

He didn't bother to look among the dancing couples (which angered him - why didn't the other men think to ask her to dance?).

And there's this zinger:

He didn't know how he hadn't noticed it all these years. Was the world populated with stupid men, or merely blind ones?

Even better when he says it out loud, because she deserves positive affirmations:

"You are beautiful," he said, shaking his head in confusion. "I don't know why nobody else sees it."

And then there's this tasty morsel:

Her eyes shone with anticipation, and her lips - dear God, how was it possible that the men of London had never noticed how perfect they were?

I love how he loves her. It's just beautiful.

And she doesn't need to mean something to everybody because she means everything to him. Sighhh.

just here to say that everyone recognizing how stupid hot Luke Newton is is my ultimate vindication era because from the moment I first saw him he fully altered my brain chemistry and we all need to s(cream) about him together
