Krel : I’ve seen your alien films, everything from outer space is a murderous threat!

Toby : Ok, but have you seen them. I have a proposal, since we have all summer, I’m going to create an entire list of the best sci fi, alien films earth has to offer.

Then you can make your judgement. Kleb or alive isn’t the first film with an extra terrestrial hero you know.

Plus, yes there are ones where aliens are the bad guys, but dude. You should see the number of films where humans are the bad guys. Trust me, they way out go the number of alien bad guy tropes.

Krel : fine, I haven’t seen that many alien films, only stereotypes. I trust you Toby to change my judgement. it will be fun to spend some time with friends not saving the galaxy.

Toby: see! That’s the attitude, you’re going to love this, you will be surprised by humanity’s creativity, if there’s one thing humans are good at, it’s the creative arts.

You should only write in present tense with extreme caution.

not because it's bad or anything but because if you do it even once you're going to be editing the bits where you shifted tenses out of your writing for the rest of your life

my favorite microniche of cartoon tropes is when you look at a cartoon characters closet and it’s literally like 30 sets of the same outfit they’re in every episode

As a writer I hate it when people get so perfect with grammar and sentence structures. My personal opinion is if it follows the rules of language enough to where you can clearly understand what the person is trying to say it’s perfect. Language was created to communicate and express ideas, not restrict us. I was so bugged when Stephen King in his book On Writing said it was weaker or worse to say: ‘“He jumped!” he exclaimed.’ Then to say ‘“He jumped!” he said.’. It was just such a nit-picky thing to say. Language was made to express yourself but people judge certain ways of speaking/writing for no valid reason. Say everything other than said, say said as well, say whatever you want! Language is a tool not a barrier. Language is one of the greatest inventions in history, you should not be scared to mess up in it or to be judged for your words. Say stuff in weird ways! Say words from hundreds of years ago! All that matters is you are understood. That is the only rule that should matter. Never be scared to say funky things. If you are judged then ignore them. If you are understood and happy with the words you choose then nothing else should be of importance. Love language.
