i dont agree with a lot of the posturing against people who only watch kid's cartoons because it feels mean-spirited. like if you want to do that it's cool and i don't think you're committing some moral or intellectual sin--but it is very silly when people who do this forget that they're watching cartoons for children, not in a 'you can't expect children's media to be good' way or even a 'the politics of children's media aren't worth analyzing way' but in a 'you have to be realistic about genre expectations' way. because that's how you end up with arguments over whether steven universe should have killed people or not

VERY important day in history

Understandably throughout the Tales of Arcadia franchise there have been a number of storyboard artists and more than a few of them worked through House of Cool, their videos/hidden assets on the website being the only public source of their work. Been having great fun playing figure out the artist with that one but that's another thing.

Blair Kitchen was one of those working on a number of different shows/films including Trollhunters, Ferdinand, Book of Life and even as an animator on Green Eggs & Ham. He also had his own website Possum Press where some of his work was public, others forever locked. If you click that link you may notice that it no longer functions and there is a reason for that: In January 2020 he suddenly passed away.

Understandably over time his website began to crumble. First with the html peeping through then things breaking until one day it was simply no more. When the code first started appearing I grabbed the three Trollhunters sequences though at the time it hadn't honestly occurred to me to get the others too, it wouldn't until it was too late.

Those sequences you voted on? Unless someone else grabbed them these are the only public copies which from a personal point of view is utterly terrifying. He had them available once and I like to hope his intention was to continue for them to be and so here we are. Determined to make them as available as possible so if I ever have complete hardware failure and my back ups fail they will still exist.

Stricklake fans this is one of extremely few sequences that is still public as a big chonky one was removed from vimeo recently. Enjoy that while everyone else can enjoy that Barbara comment that did not make it to the final at the end there.
