FAREWELL TO THE SIMS 3 TAG

FAREWELL TO THE SIMS 3 TAG

I was tagged by tumblinrob!

Questions:

1. When did you start playing the Sims 3?

I was late to the series, because I only really started playing TS2 around the time TS3 came out, so I had been playing TS2 for the first few years of TS3's life. What made me really want the game was watching Headbuttarcade's (now Andrewarcade) Let's Play the Sims 3 videos on Youtube. I bought the game on October 21st, 2011 and have been addicted ever since.

2. What did you like most about the Sims 3?

I loved all the graphical upgrades right off the bat. As I played more, Create-a-Style and the whole open world were my favorite things. It did do a great job making the whole town feel more alive, even if nonactive sims just go to work and parks and stand around in their houses. Story Progression was a great aspect, too, though it was much improved by Twallan's mods!

3. What did you spend most of your time doing in the Sims 3?

I've been pretty gameplay-based since the beginning, because telling stories was never really a talent of mine. I liked to just make random sims and throw them into the world to see what mischief they get into on their own.

4. One thing you won’t forget about the Sims 3

I'll the never forget all the random glitchiness of the games. Half the fun of the game is just seeing what new ways the game bugs out and what random things it does. I'll always remember all the random sims I've made over the years, too, and the mischief they all got into!

5. One thing that annoyed you the most in the Sims 3?

The whole 'bad CC attaching itself to other CC' fiasco annoyed me greatly. Those stupid long hooker boots plagued my sims of all ages forever until I figured out how to get rid of them.

6. How has the Sims 3 impacted your life?

For one, the Sims 3 has continued to fuel my computer addiction. I really wish I knew how many hours I've sunk into this game (or maybe I don't...). I'm glad I started playing it, though, because it's been a blast these past three years and I've become friends with so many different people! :D

7. Will you be playing the Sims 3 after the release of the Sims 4?

Yes, I think so. I'm not done with Sims 3 yet. I would like to get TS4 when it comes out just for the sake of being on the bandwagon this time around. I was too young for The Sims 1, got into The Sims 2 late into its life, and was too busying playing TS2 for The Sims 3 until a couple of years into TS3's life. I'm excited to be able to get the game right when it comes out and join in on all the pre-CC-and-mods fun. Unless The Sims 4 has some majestic new features we haven't heard about yet that really change my mind, I feel like I'm still going to come back to The Sims 3 after awhile.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I Actually Felt Like Doing Something In My Game Today, And Of Course, This Has To Happen. I Spent All

I actually felt like doing something in my game today, and of course, this has to happen. I spent all morning getting Lunar Lakes ready for a Perfect Genetics challenge. Was just starting to make my founder sim, and it crashed and I lost him. Luckily I had saved LL beforehand.

: / Real tired of your shit, game.

I started playing with Olive Specter, Nervous Subject, and his girlfriend Meagan Sielen again! I missed Midnight Hollow.

Nervous was halfway to being an adult already, so I figured it was time to get them hitched. He took Meagan to a nice little park and proposed. She, of course, said yes.

Signed. EA's ridiculousness needs to be curtailed, because us serious simmers are the ones who get the short end of the stick from their poor decisions and inability to listen to their community.

While they have already surpassed 10k signatures, it’s important to note that it is extremely unlikely that any amount of signatures would result in toddlers and/or pools in The Sims 4 come September 2nd.

However, it’s absolutely essential to sign and show EA that we are holding them responsible for the quality of The Sims 4. They feel comfortable removing core features from the game because they know that passionate fans will purchase it later in DLC. They get away with doing less work and ending up with more money because we allow it to happen.

We have to take a united stance on the issue. Don’t let EA take advantage of you! We should not have to pay $70 for an empty game engine, and $40 twice a year for features that have been in The Sims franchise for over a decade. The Sims 4 should be a full, standalone game, and expansions should only flesh out features and provide new experiences. Toddlers and pools are not new experiences.

At the very least, this petition will signal to EA that we will not accept receiving this content later on in the form of costly DLC. I highly suggest signing, and if you already have, then please reblog this and spread the word!

You don’t have to hate EA or The Sims 4, but if you truly care about The Sims and want it to be the best game it can be, then you must stand up for yourself!

I love Clem!

I love Clem so much, too! She really made Season 1. Watching her grow up and become Lee's little badass daughter felt so rewarding and the ending of Season 1 physically hurt. I liked playing as her in Season 2, but I didn't enjoy the game anywhere near as much as Season 2. (No spoilers in case you haven't played S2!)

Yes, Olive, There's A Tree On The Front Lawn. I'm Well Aware, You Have Several. Was It Necessary To Wake
Yes, Olive, There's A Tree On The Front Lawn. I'm Well Aware, You Have Several. Was It Necessary To Wake

Yes, Olive, there's a tree on the front lawn. I'm well aware, you have several.  Was it necessary to wake up at 2:46 in the morning to yell about it, though?
