Ok, but like Aren't there books whose covers were coloured with toxic chemicals? I heard that some books with green covers made before a certain point in time have to be handled with rubber gloves because the colour green was made with cyanide. Is that just a myth?

...the first time I stumbled upon that piece of info I was terrified, because I *do* have a rather old book from the 1920s with green on its cover which I *never* handled with gloves and it left me TERRIFIED.

Edit: unfortunately, I can't find any pictures of it, so I'll have to take a new one. I don't *know* for certain if the book was made with arsenic in its cover or not, but I'd rather not risk it.

Edit 2: @upennmanuscripts In order not to touch it, I left it where it was, so I was only able to take a picture of its spine.

From that time I opened it, I remember it having some wonderful illustrations depicting wildlife, I think it's pretty neat overall.
