I like the idea that he was sickly before he got sealed… cuz in Tess’s flashback to her leaving he was in bed (when he had the long hair) and yes it was actively night time, but still that outfit looked more like a hospital gown than pjs or smth

Also might explain why his dad got Tess to be a “playmate” (I might be misremembering if she explained a different reason) . If he was super sick and couldn’t really leave the house to make friends (plus the addition of him being the child of an emissary I’d assume he’s got a lot of clout and probably money) then whats better than to buy him friends?
