Jade can't even bother with the future, because this moment is what matters.

"You never have to. I never want you to." She presses her forehead to Kit's, savoring this moment, one of their few alone in weeks. "I love you, Kit. I vow to always love you, to protect you, to stand by you." She always has. She's just never been able to say it until now.

the princess' heart flutters as gaze connects. in hindsight, standing here in jade's embrace, kit can't help but wonder why they waited so long. all those years, all that uncertainty and confusion, and for what? it has led them to this moment, but what if they could have gotten here sooner? it's not a thought she lingers on for long. all that matters is this exact moment. they can return to reality shortly.

I just have priorities, like my grades and football.” She damn near rolls her eyes again at his question about her teammates. How many had he tried sleeping with already? She has to wonder. “I’m sure a few will… especially if I ask in the group chat.”
