Hot take: The much quieter level of corporate Pride this year is not worth celebrating.

Not because I want to spend my dollars on Pride merch sold by corporations that don’t care, but because the near-absence of corpo Pride is a canary in the coal mine. Corpo Pride is a barometer of sorts for social acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community. If Corpo Pride goes away, it should be because being LGBTQ+ is so normalized and seen as “no big deal” that there’s no message to ‘sell’ anymore; but what’s happening now is NOT that.

For fuck’s sake.

Will we listen to him this time? Take him seriously and take him literally and watch how many fucking bigots vote for him.

Vote. Vote for anyone willing to stand up to this hate.

Register and vote. Get the fucking ID, help your neighbors and friends get theirs and get to the polls. Organize a fucking road trip to the polls just do it and vote because lives are on the fucking line. Everyone on the right from mainstream Republicans to hardcore neo-Nazis are celebrating the video while Democrats and legacy news media outlets have so far largely ignored it. “So this is what we are up against,” tweeted legislative researcher and pro-transgender activist Erin Reed.
