in primary school we had a creative writing assignment where we had to ‘write about a character in a new, strange situation!’ and i wrote about a squid that was somehow teleported from the ocean to the forest floor and slowly choked to death for two pages and i’ll never quite forget my teacher’s face because it turns out she wanted ‘this new school is scary, i hope i make friends!’ and not a graphic description of a squid dying

Alll of this. I'm naturally nocturnal trying and struggling to live in a 9-5 world. But still better that than doing a night shift and losing my most beloved and most productive hours to something I don't wanna do.

The last thing I want is for any of them to die (call me crazy but I love it when characters survive against all odds) but at the same time I can't help thinking that if this was real life, they absolutely would have just killed them 😄
