Teenagers can think critically. If you believe a book is too dangerous for your teenager, you’re just admitting that:
1. you’re not capable of the skills parenting requires to help them synthesize and question what they read or
2. you’re afraid your kid will think critically about what YOU have been teaching them.
Which is it hmmmmm?????
There shouldn’t be anything wrong with asking questions. There is no sin in curiosity. We don't even believe in sin!! I do agree that tradition is incredibly important. It shouldn’t change or be abandoned on a whim. I cherished my families and coven's traditions. But what is the use of a practice, a way of life even, that can’t be adapted to stay relevant to our changing world and values? That doesn’t have the ability to adjust when new information is discovered?

if your family has been torn apart by religion, i promise you are less alone than you realize.
Watching my mother’s need to protect her reputation (by forcing me into a twin set and pearls) conflict with my father’s surety that I’m just dressing this way for attention and I’ll stop if they ignore me is really making this dinner party prep a blast.
