Fanon Sirius; my behated
So Iāve spoken here and there about hating fanon Sirius but Iāve finally got around to writing out my full hater- festo.
One of my biggest frustrations with fanon Sirius is how often heās reduced to a shallow version of himself. Whether heās defined entirely by his love interest or portrayed as a dramatic and short idiot, the complexity of his character gets lost. Reducing him to a trope makes him feel flat and, frankly, boring.
Fanfiction is supposed to be transformative, but that transformation needs to build on the source material, not create OCs with canon names slapped on them (you can just create ocs).
Regardless of his situation, love interest, gender expression or orientation, Sirius has defining traits that shape how he interacts with the world. Heās complex, shaped by trauma, war, and grief. Born at the apex of wizarding society, Sirius spends much of his life as a pariah. He rebells against his privilege but is outwardly arrogant. He loves and hates fiercely, acts without thinking when loved ones are in danger. He is cruel and cutting but will die for the people he loves. He has a resting bitch face but will chase his own tail just to make someone laugh.
He contains so much to work with and explore
Yet fanon often reduces Sirius to simplistic tropes and flattens him into something that strips away what makes him interesting. Siriusās intelligence, fierceness, and unyielding loyalty are central to who he is, no matter the context. He wouldnāt lose his core traits, regardless of circumstanceāheād still be hunting down Peter with the Rat Stabber 3000 in hand to protect Harry/ someone he loves.
This kind of flattening reflects a deeper literacy issue. Being able to extrapolate from source material, analyse character dialogue, and read between the lines is a key literacy skill. Writers need to be able to create character consistency or keep characters feeling true to themselves, even when they contain multitudes. Failing to interpret characters thoughtfully undermines the complexity that makes them worth writing about.

day nine - fire. A little sketch of the famous moment when these two idiots studied Confingo and were left without eyebrows. I love this story! HAHA
"I donāt make art because I canāt draw. I donāt write because Iām not a writer."
Do it anyway. Do it badly. Scribble the lines, let the words stumble. None of that matters. Perfection is a myth we tell ourselves to keep from starting. Upload the messy draft, the sketch that looks like a five-year-old made it. Let it be raw, let it be flawed, because thatās where the realness is. Art isnāt about being perfectāitās about being honest, vulnerable, and brave enough to share something that feels impossible to get right. Let the world see you trying.

Remember everyone: All you have to do to get a guy is kick his ass in a fight and then endlessly tease him about it. It's science.
I made this 3 AM.

MC having the time of their life thinking they're being so in character and so unsus walking around the school like this.
Also literally everyone they meet:

The trio discuss the best Hogwarts pet
(and Phoebe is a little over-protective of her toad, Flora, especially when it comes to Garreth Weasley's potions)
(Ginger is my headcanon owl for Seb hehe)
First part is from the trio's reunion at the Three Broomsticks in chapter 25 of my ficāØ

Sebastian checking out so many books again from the library. Always the bookworm. š

Sebastian: What are you doing with your thumb?
Damien: I don't know. My creator's forcing me to do this.
Sebastian: ...Your creator?
Damien: Yeah. I tried to tell her I prefer using my fingers for more important things!
Sebastian: ...Like what? Actually, you know what, don't answer that.
#MCtober prompt - fave/ hated subjects/ professors
Favourite is Professor Fig!

No least one but I like that Professor Shah isnāt falling over herself to give praise like others

nerduellist Seb HC
I HC Sebastian as the one who balances on being bookworm and the one who never miss a chance to practice his knowledge during the duels

He always tries to improve his skills and he does it even without books: just observing his future opponents' favorite combinations of spells and the techniques they use most frequently. He never stops analysing what happens on the battlefield: the environment also can become his weapon (remember the skull at the DADA class)

The nerd/bookworm side, on the other hand, appears when he tries to tutor the peers after classes or help them with their spelling practice.

Duelling club originally was Lucan's idea, but at first only a few students took the 3rd year seriously. So Sebastian supported it from the beginning and helped him to implement the idea.
Natty also helped to start this club since it was also a great reason for her to make more friends when she only came to Hogwarts. They helped her to practice using wand while casting spells.
