I've seen a few people complaining about the DRM on the Terry Pratchett Discworld bundle currently available via Humble Bundle. It is a hassle to get the books from Kobo to Kindle (or whatever other device you want to use) but it isn't impossible. It is a lot of steps, but I feel like it's worth it to get so many books for such a low price. It would be neat if we lived in a world where if you bought something, it was just yours, no strings attached, but alas, for now we must find workarounds.

This is gonna get long, so instructions are under the cut.

Then, if you don't already have it, download Calibre. Once you have that installed, then you're gonna want to find and download Obok DeDrm. Once you have that on your computer extract the files. Next click "preferences" in calibre, find the option for plugins and click "load plugin from file". Find the Obok file and load it in. Then you'll want to restart Calibre.

Once you've purchased the bundle, Humble Bundle will direct you to the Kobo webpage to obtain the books. It does make you manually select each book, which is annoying, but not a huge deal. Then you'll copy and paste the key from Humble Bundle to Kobo. Kobo will prompt you to create an account, and then all your books will be available.

Now, here's where things get a bit tricky. Yes you can download each book individually from the Kobo website, but please don't do that. Google "kobo desktop" and download the app to your computer. Log in with the account you created from the website, and if the books don't automatically download, go ahead and click on the lil arrow to download each one. (yes, a bit annoying.)

Once you're back in to calibre, you'll find a button for Obok on the tool bar (you may need to make it full screen to see it) go ahead and give it a click, and it will automatically link to the kobo desktop app. Tell it which books you want, and boom. No DRM.

I use a kindle device, so once I had all the books into Calibre, I went ahead and plugged my kindle into my computer. Calibre automatically recognized it. Then, just selected all the Discworld books, Right click, send to device, send to main memory. A few minutes later they were all conveniently on my Kindle.
