I’ve been in love with Kim Junkyu since episode one.

YG don’t fuck this up.

Honestly, I may be wrong but I think YG’s main plan is to Debut Team A plus or minus a few members. In Mix and Match (the survival show to debut Ikon) YG made a whole big deal about how ‘no one is confirmed for debut’, ‘you guys need to step it up’, ‘theres no way you can debut like this’, ‘look at me adding 3 new people that can replace 3 whole of your members’ etc and in the end all that happened was 1 additional member was added. YG isn’t stupid he can see how good Team A’s teamwork is and how ready for debut they are, it’s apparent in his smiles when team A is performing. He KNOWS how good they are. But he really just wants to create unnecessary panic and drama and get viewers and new fans. The really unfortunate thing about this though is that the boys (i/e babies !! actual smol children!!) also panic and question themselves and their abilities and suffer for this sake. This is really just me speculating but based on the previous YG survival shows I think this is really his plan. Like he really is using the show to manipulate the viewers feelings about the trainees to what his producers already planned from the beginning: By shitting on Yedam and Hyunsuk on the first few episodes even though they were clearly so skilled, he made people develop soft spots for them. Even though every japanese trainee struggled to leave their family to come to YG, they focused on haruto because its probably a member YG + producers want in the group. If you look at the popularity of each member on vlive, you see that it almost correlates to the amount of screentime / focus they had on the show (except for byunggon idk wth yg is doing with him but at least he has his mixnine popularity lol) but that really says something i think.

tl;dr i think yg is using this show to give us the illusion of getting to pick and put together a debut team when in reality he already has a vision and is trying to make people love, sympathize for, and root for Team A +/- some trainees from the other teams that he might add to the team.

treasure A

im gonna rant cause I’m fucking pissed off. I’m tired of trainees/idols being used and manipulated for “good tv”. the yg treasure box trainees are just another example of this and its disgusting. its so obvious that treasure A is ready to debut as they are. period. no argument. in episode 3, we got to see the honest, heartbroken reactions of the members when midam told them about leaving, reactions that were used as a way to build suspense in the teaser for this episode. yg is choosing members from each group to contend for the debut slots and honestly?? its ridiculous. not because the other trainees aren’t talented, because they definitely are, but because some of them lack experience, are too young, or, in some cases, the language barrier is a bit too pronounced. so although there are trainees outside of treasure A that are ready to debut, it would make more sense for yg to spend time and energy on properly preparing treasure A for debut instead of spending money and manipulating children’s emotions for the sake of television to debut a team that won’t have the same chemistry. like when the 3 members of treasure A were chosen to be in the contending debut team, as soon as they left the room, all of them started crying, the members who made it and the members who didn’t, thats how much they care about each other and want to debut together, they even promised to meet each other in the end……….the way yedam started crying as soon as their performance ended should say it all, they really love each other and I’m just so sad for them. my heart is aching for these trainees that have prepared for so long and have built such strong friendships and are continuously shot down and denied the opportunity they’re so clearly ready for just for the sake of television and without a legitimate reason besides yg wanting to create drama and to get media attention
