You Groaned Quietly As You Rubbed Your Eyes With A Yawn, Sitting Up In Bed. You Furrowed Your Eyebrows

You groaned quietly as you rubbed your eyes with a yawn, sitting up in bed. You furrowed your eyebrows together, glancing over towards the clock in the room to see it was a quarter to eleven. Your eyes trailed over the edge of the bed gazing over at the blow up mattress on the ground to see it empty, the covers pushed aside haphazardly.

“Kagami” You called out quietly, pushing the covers back.

You were staying at his apartment for a couple of days while your parents were away on their wedding anniversary trip. It wasn’t easy, however after much persuasion, you had been able to convince them to allow you to stay with him. During the first night he seemed really flustered about sleeping arrangements and when you had suggested sharing his bed he acted as if you had said you wanted a rough love making session right then and there. What a dork. In the end he had found an old blow up mattress stuffed away in his closet somewhere and although you had insisted he take his own bed, he wouldn’t take no for an answer. You swung your legs over the edge of the bed, stepping onto the cold floor underneath before heading into the bathroom, doing your every day morning routine before coming out again. You glanced around the room and grabbed one of Kagami’s hoodies he had lying around and pulled it on over the plain white v-neck that you had slept in. The size difference between you and him caused it to cover almost the entire upper half of your body, just letting your pyjama shorts peak out from underneath it. You stepped out of the bedroom and the scent of food immediately hit you causing you to smile as you made your way towards the kitchen.

“Morning” You said, smiling slightly at Kagami who was over near the stove.

Kagami glanced over his shoulder and grinned slightly before turning back towards the stove top. You took a step onto the tiled kitchen floor and smiled slightly, walking over towards him, wrapping your arms around his waist as you peeked out from behind him looking at what he was making and to your surprise he had a couple things going at a time. on the stove were four pans, one on each burner. In one pan he was making pancakes, on another he was frying bacon and sausages. In the third pan eggs were being scrambled with things like onions and ham within them and within the last pan was some hash browns sizzling on it as they started to turn a golden colour. You glanced over as you heard a ding seeing four pieces of toast pop up and out of the toaster before you glanced up towards Kagami in astonishment. Sure he could cook, that was well known– but of of this? It was not something you would have expected from him.

“Here, let me help” You said, unwinding your arms from him.

Kagami simply shook his head as his gaze met yours.

“Breakfast’s on me” He said with a small smile.

You arched an eyebrow but didn’t object as you craned your neck, pressing a quick kiss against his lips. He smiled slightly at your actions as you let go of his waist, going over to the cabinets and drawers, grabbing plates and utensils for when the food was ready. You set a couple plates town on the counter area beside the stove top before grabbing two more plates as well as the pair of forks and knives, taking them over towards the small table where the two of you usually sat to eat and set them down, setting up two seats as usual at the table. Kagami soon trailed out of the kitchen behind you, balancing plates of food precariously along his arms. You made your way over to him, taking a couple plates off his hands and set them down on the table as he did the same. You furrowed your eyebrows slightly, staring at the sheer amount of food that was set out before glancing over at the tall red headed teen.

“What?” He questioned, arching an eyebrow towards you.

“This is so much food…”

He simply smiled at that as he sat down at the table and shrugged.

“Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Besides, I’m hungry” He grinned.

You smiled at that as you sat down too, knowing full well how much he could eat at one sitting and rest assured knowing that by the time he was done, there wouldn’t be any food left for the green bin.
