What if Jax tried acting as a 'wingman' to Pomni and Ragatha, but he does it solely to mess with them. Like "Oh, yeah, Ragatha loves bugs. Give her a few and you'll be set," and "Y'know, Pomni was just telling me how much she loves the food here. I bet a picnic would cheer her up."

(Meanwhile, Ragatha is terrified of bugs cause they eat through her fabric, and Pomni refuses to eat anything because she thinks its like a Persephone and the Pomegranate type deal. "Maybe if I eat, I'll be stuck here forever once we find a working way out.")

Somehow, it works out for them eventually, but Jax coninually gives them bad advice to get some more entertainment.

this idea is just. so good. but i'd like to add to it if you don't mind!

perhaps at some point ragatha and pomni will find out that jax was messing with them the whole time, and once jax knows that they know, he'll actually start giving both of them good advice.

but the thing is, they don't want to listen to him anymore. they've been tricked so many times that they think every piece of advice he now chooses to give is a lie he fabricated to screw up their relationship, even though this time around, it would really benefit them both if they paid attention.

so, jax gets to mess with them either way.
