story WIP
Girard leaned over, head in her hands in relief as Mary finally fell asleep after a 2 hour long crying fit. Her hand hurt from shaking her baby’s rattle and her ears were practically shot from the sound of wailing. She couldn’t believe this was her life now. A lump formed in her throat thinking about how much of her life she had thrown away. She loved Mary-Liz, of course, she was her own flesh and blood and as soon as she held her baby in that dingey medical ward, that this was her pride and joy. Even so, she missed her old life. Fucking around, getting drunk every night, hanging out with her friends and fellow gangsters, before motherhood. It hurt. It hurt bad.
