Why are skirts on male characters often so sexualized? Skirts can be sexy. But they are also beautiful and can be comfy. Often when men drawn with a skirt in fanart it comes as a kink. A lifted skirt, a too short skirt, showing characters exposed and shy about it.

Let men wear skirts as an everyday item! Long skirts, wide skirts, flowy skirts, pencilskirts, short skirts, funny skirts, fancy skirts.

I don’t mind sexy skirt art. Skirts can be very sexy. And it can be shown as such. But if the trope of men wearing skirts only exists as a kink, shown with short skirts, to embarrass them or have the skirt lifted, then it’s a poor representation and doesn’t normalize men in skirts.
