as much as i do think the bsd anime is a pretty good adaption, one of the biggest issues i have is how much kunikida content they leave out

like when he was under Q’s curse

or when he was trying to steal a car and let someone who didn’t have theft insurance go

or when he cried for two hours before reuniting with the rest of the agency

kunikida is just such a great character who has a lot of depth to his own morals and vulnerabilities and i wish we could see more of it.

Imagine post-airport.

Imagine dazai coming back at the Ada. Everyone is still shaken up and injured from what happened. And of course, he immediately searches for kunikida. But he's not there.

Imagine dazai asking atsushi, who breaks down in tears, telling him that he died for his and tanizaki's sake.

Imagine it hits dazai that his plan failed -and his was the result of it. He wasn't perfect and this happened and now he can't turn it back

Imagine dazai seeing kunikida in Aya. Her sweet smile, her unwavering moral code and will to help everyone in need.

Imagine the Ada keeping kunikida's desk empty. It was his place and it will always be his place.

Imagine dazai waiting for kunikida to call him for his usual check up. In the beginning, it's just out of habit. But after a while, it becomes a kind of desperation. He hopes that despite everything, kunikida will call him again and tell him that he's alive. Or that he can hear his voice at least one last time

Imagine dazai getting drunk on the day of the accident, playing kunikida's voicemails over and over again.

Imagine the Ada still following kunikida's strict schedule. It worked well for them and it gives them structure. And a feeling that he's still here.

Can't help but imagine Fyodor and Dazai sitting 5 inches from each other while doing this:
