I’m sorry but in no way would rosekiller ever be toxic. to an outsiders pov they might seem it, but they understand each other too much to ever be toxic.

yeah sure barty might get a little too overwhelmed and will do nothing but scream and shout at evan, but evan is holding his arms to ground him and allow him to express his emotions the only way he knows how. and he knows that barty never means it, so why be upset about it? he doesn’t mind if it helps.

sure when evan’s pissed off he just shuts down, ignores everyone and everything and just, exsists. but he always makes sure he has some form of physical contact with barty because he knows how much the other hates being ignored. this way he can still be mad whilst reassuring barty that he cares for him.

and maybe they’ll have days where they’re both pissed at each other and can’t even be in the same room. in that case barty will just crawl into evan’s bed at night because they both hate going to be angry and this acts as an unspoken agreement that whatever they were fighting about doesn’t matter anymore.
