“the weather seems to be lovely today don’t you think?” he asks.his voice held excitement,and his face held a smile when you turned to look at him.he was fastening his seatbelt,then trying to start the engine of the car.unbeknownst to him,even the most mundane things he did caused your poor stomach to erupt with swarms of butterflies and your heart to race for speeds that were unmatched.it was laughable to you.“yeah,i’m excited for the things we’re gonna do once we reach there,”you state.you leaned your head against the soft head rest while stifling a giggle.he turned his head to look and you and raised his brow confused.“well,we do the same things every year,i don’t know how you still have the excitement to do everything,” he sighs.he then lets out a soft laugh while beginning to drive the car.

“well,i’ve missed home a lot.and plus,we get to go the cherry blossom festival again”you excitedly exclaim.wonwoo shaked his head while continuing to laugh,you always were the positive one out of the pair,while wonwoo wasn’t necessarily pessimistic,but he was rather realistic.where were the two of you off to? to the airport about to take a flight to the place where the both of you grew up in,changwon.it was the holidays,so as usual your best friend and you decided to go home after being in seoul studying in university for the majority of the year.

every year changwon also held a cherry blossom festival.it was to celebrate the cherry blossom trees blooming,of course.wonwoo and you made it a tradition to visit the festival every year every since you were in little children.everyone hyped up the blush-coloured petals blooming and falling from those trees with their beliefs that it’ll create romantic or breathtaking scenarios in their life,and you didn’t lie if you wish that could happen to you with wonwoo but sadly your luck was never good.your relationship with wonwoo had always been a weird thing.growing up as best friends,you’ve never believed that you would see wonwoo as someone you’d catch feelings for.it wasn’t until sophomore year of highschool you realised your feelings for the boy,and now you were in your second year of university still lovesick with your bestfriend.

it didn’t help that wonwoo was also being so damn boyfriend material-ish.on days that you were feeling a little bummed,wonwoo would be there to make you a meal so he knew you ate and he’d be the absolute gentlest person while talking to you about your problems and damn,his hugs were heavenly.it was like taking crack but better,not that you have ever done crack though.it’s so annoying how the universe blessed you with practically everyone’s dream boy then you were just…you.deciding to push your thoughts away,you chose to enjoy the car ride.your eyes started to feel tired and flutter,maybe a little nap would help you push your thoughts aside.

wonwoo had been focusing on the road for some time but when he heard soft snoring from his side,he turned to look at you..the expression on your face was so serene, ‘you must’ve been enjoying your nap’ wonwoo thinks to himself.he smiled to himself,you always looked so adorable when you were fast asleep,not that he would ever have the guts tell you though.

the reving of an engine coming to a silence is what brought you to wake up from your nap.your eyes opened to see that you were in the familiar parking lot of the airport.you must’ve already arrived.you turned your view to wonwoo to see him staring back at you.he smiles out of relief and begins,“i was about to wake you up coincidentally,we should get out of the car now.” he said.you stretched your arms before unbuckling the seatbelt.you turned your head to see that wonwoo had already exited the car so you hurriedly followed along.

the car door was shut closed as you brought your feet to the car boot where wonwoo was lifting out your bags,you smiled to yourself and began to help him before he pulled the bags you were gripping out of your hands.wonwoo had simply tsked and said, “you should leave this all to me you know,” you sighed deciding to just follow by what he said, he could be really stubborn at times so it was better to not say anything.

you waited until wonwoo had finished lifting up the bags.once he was,you held a few of them in your hand so he didn’t have to worry about all of them. “you ready to go?” you asked.wonwoo hummed in return and started walking with you trailing behind. wonwoo then looked behind you to make sure that you were following him,he smiled when you looked at him and proceeded to continue walking into the doors of the airport.

“passport?”

“yep,im holding it right in my hand,woo.”

“identification card?”

“in my purse.”

“purse?”

“its right in front of your eyes in my hands jeon wonwoo,stop worrying about me okay?” you exasperated.the both of you were in the plane sitting right next to each other. wonwoo had decided to check if you had everything with you with the reasoning that ‘you were forgetful and tend to let things slip from your mind’.you found it a little endearing but wonwoo could sometimes be a worry wart.wonwoo sighed in return.“okay,i was just scared you’d forget okay?you’re kinda stupid sometimes” he said with a sly smile

“i don’t know if i should be offended when you forgot to bring your own wallet to a café that one time we went out for lunch” you said with a smirk while leaning your head on his shoulder.wonwoo just sighed while opening his mouth to retaliate but was interrupted by the pilot who started speaking over the intercom asking the passengers to prepare for the departure of the aeroplane.wonwoo had slinked his hand over your shoulder and patting it. “we’re gonna need all the rest we can get so we can adventure the city again and see the cherry blossom festival like we always do,get some rest okay?goodnight stupid”he whispered.that made your heart race at the speed of light and your cheeks heat up.you batted your eye at him to see his eyes flutter and his breathing had started to slow down,he was about to sleep.you thanked the world that he didnt get to see you like this.

for now,let’s just focus on enjoying the trip instead of your stupid feelings.
