Literally the entire point of glass onion is that every single person was willing to buy the lie that miles bron was a genius because they didn't want to accept that "the system" is flawed.

We believe that wealth = intelligence because if we accept that stupid and lazy people can make billions of money from the backs of others, than people could no longer believe in the comforting lie that anyone can "pull up their bootstraps and become rich, if they're willing to hard work enough"

Politicians, scientists, and even real genius detectives were all willing to accept the obvious lie that miles bron is brilliant because it benefits them in some way to do so.

The point is that the louvre would be 100% willing to give miles bron the real Mona Lisa because being intentional ignorant of miles brons stupidity was incredibly profitable. If the louvre "outsmarted" miles by giving him a fake, than that defeats the entire message of the movie.

That being, no one was willing to actually disrupt the system, expect for Andi and Helen. Yes, even highly regarded institutions like the louvre can be complicit in upholding toxic, harmful systems--thats literally the point of the movie.
