Book Thranduil
Honestly book Thranduil is such a cinnamon roll - like he finds Thorin, a really suspicious dwarf (remember that Mirkwood is generally not very fond of dwarves) and then he questions Thorin, who absolutely refuses to tell Thranduil why he’s there. So naturally, Thranduil’s like, throw this unreasonable dwarf in the dungeons! But don’t forget to make sure he has plenty of food and water - and basically a feast in his cell, basically.
A lot of people forget who Thranduil was in the books, and although he was the tiniest bit greedy he was also really kind and helpful in the books (especially later on) and it needs to be remembered.

Your welcome -w-
Well I’m definitely traumatized
Suzanne Collins really woke up one morning and decided to traumatize a generation of kids not once but TWICE
I love that female leaders are so normalized in TUC. Luxa, Weavox, Athena, and the cutter monarch are all queens. Luxa acts surprised when Gregor asks if women have an equal claim to the throne as men; no one ever doubts them on behalf of their gender. Solovet, Lapblood, and Perdita are respected leaders, too, and we can pretty safely assume Nike is, as she was selected as the flier representative. Grace could easily be seen as a leader, too.
There’s never any “ooooh she can’t do it because she’s a girl” subplots either, which I understand can be empowering, but frankly it’s kind of an ugly reminder, and going without it is refreshing. They’re all presented for the most part as flawed, well rounded characters, and they’re not held to stupidly high expectations, nor do they have their leadership abilities as their only personality trait.
And there’s female characters who aren’t necessarily warriors or leaders, but they’re still shown as strong and talented and unique in their own right!!
Thanks, Suzanne.
All my favorite characters are sassy little shits (Ripred, Loki, Sylvie, Natasha and Thranduil)

I did a drawing yesterday of Ripred from the Underland Chronicles series and I’ve read 3 of the books so far and I FREAKING LOVE IT!!!
Ps Ripred is my favorite Asshole character XD
