i mean this in the gentlest way possible: you need to eat vegetables. you need to become comfortable with doing so. i do not care if you are a picky eater because of autism (hi, i used to be this person!), you need to find at least some vegetables you can eat. find a different way to prepare them. chances are you would like a vegetable you hate if you prepared it in a stew or roasted it with seasoning or included it as an ingredient in a recipe. just. please start eating better. potatoes and corn are not sufficient vegetables for a healthy diet.

Remembering that time i told my "best friend" at the time about my favorite death metal band and how they discussed mutually abusive relationships, religious trauma, sexual assault, etc and they said something about how "women aren't even safe in death". the woman in question is not even said to be dead in that album lmao.

Mutually abusive. It's very clear both of them are abusing eachother and we don't know who "started it" based on the lyrics. You cannot pick sides. They are both awful people. both hurt eachother in equally bad ways, and i don't mean it in the "she didn't put out, do dishes, etc" way. i mean it in the sense that she engages in actual abuse.

I think the shit test for if someone is a feminist or just hates men is having them listen to some actually good metal and seeing what they say about it. Do they think negatively of it just because it involves a man yelling - even if the topic is very clearly about HIS trauma , something he DID while being abused and regrets doing and has since changed from , something that happened to him and still haunts him? if so, then ditch em, they just hate men and think a man being emotionally vulnerable stops being good when it involves anger.

like holy shit . men are just people. sometimes it aint that deep, or at least isn't about misogyny. some bands and songs are very obviously misogynist, like, i remember finding the song "the woman will always leave the man" by woods of ypres (can't think of other bands because i listen to songs about people, mostly guys, although sometimes there are women, like svalbard and underdark , having issues- not hating women).

I remember i was frustrated about that because their other music had been really comforting to me, and i tried being more careful about the music i listended to from then on. But people still hated it because yk. if a man is angry that's abusive - even if it's rightful anger about how he was abused.

please god stop thinking of men as just our place in patriarchy. we can be more than that if we try . it hurts me to see my own damn friends hating things i like just because they're masculine things to like, rather than based on the actual content of the things i like.

at some point you have to realize that you actually have to read to understand the nuance of anything. we as a society are obsessed with summarization, likely as a result of the speed demanded by capital. from headlines to social media (twitter being especially egregious with the character limit), people take in fragments of knowledge and run with them, twisting their meaning into a kaleidoscope that dilutes the message into nothing. yes, brevity is good, but sometimes the message, even when communicated with utmost brevity, requires a 300 page book. sorry.

People who get hung up on the fact that forcemasc sometimes focuses on the destruction of femininity don't understand that trans men and butches do not find femininity liberating. We're told our entire life to shut up and close our legs. We're punished for living as our authentic selves and rewarded for putting up a facade. For what? For the comfort and perceived safety of others. At best, we're told that who we really are should be kept behind closed doors, away from the public eye, away from impressionable "women" and children who might want what we have!

For me, femininity is oppression. It is a cage. Masculinity is freedom. It's my freedom. I'm a man and I deserve it. I need a partner who understands that.
