charles wasn’t sure what his breaking point had been with ferrari. maybe it had been the monaco grand prix or maybe it was the shitty strategies from his team. all he knew was that at some point he had grown sick and tired of it. those around him had noticed it too, his brothers being the firsts to notice. the passion he held for ferrari just wasn’t there, and if he was honest, he didn’t know who he was without being a ferrari driver. the next person to notice was teagan, when had entered his drivers room after particularly difficult race, which seemed like the norm for him now, and basically ripped himself out of his suit and fireproofs. she had looked at him with genuine curiosity before bringing up a subject charles never thought she would.

“checo’s retiring at the end of the year,” she softly said, as charles pulled on his red polo. his movements froze, “what?”

“checo’s retiring.”

“non, i heard you,” charles answered, “why would you tell me this?”

“if you want, the red bull seat is yours. daniel’s content with returning to alpha tauri at the moment. liam doesn’t have nearly enough experience and dad doesn’t think yuki’s ready yet. if you want it, it’s yours.”

“i’m with ferrari until after 2024, i can’t just leave, which i don’t want to.”

teagan sat up, running a hand through her blonde hair, “can you just be fucking selfish for once? just this once, please. we both know this isn’t what you want anymore. you’re sick of the shitty strategies and playing second fiddle to carlos. you’re wasting your talent here.”

“don’t bring sebastian up,” he warned. sebastian had been a difficult subject for them to talk about since his retirement. charles had looked up to the older driver and felt like he was to blame for the end of seb’s time at ferrari. he wasn’t but charles was nothing if not a martyr.

“i didn’t bring him up, you did. the seat’s yours, the opportunity for it wasn’t going to be there until 2025 but you should- just think about it. regardless of where you are, we both know your dad and jules will be proud of you.”

“don’t- do not go there.”

the blonde girl stood up, and walked to the door, “just- just don’t have any regrets.”

"how did it go?" checo questioned as the blonde girl walked into red bull hospitality. she frowned, "exactly how max predicted, he's a masochist."

"ferrari is his dream," her dad spoke up, "he feels like he's letting everyone down by not bringing the championship home to maranello."

"it's not about others, he's letting himself down, that's the problem. it's not about his dad, jules, or the tifosi," daniel pointed out, "he's il predestinato, he's the one who was supposed to bring the championship back to them. he was supposed to be the next sebastian vettel. those are some pretty fucking big shoes to fill."

max appeared, his arms crossed as he stood by the doorway, "he can still be il predestinato with red bull. sebastian was a red bull driver before he was with ferrari, he can still be the next sebastian vettel."

teagan laughed, "max, you are the next sebastian vettel."

"i'm max verstappen, not the next sebastian vettel."

"that's not what the internet thinks," daniel replied. max made a face at that and daniel couldn't help but laugh at his expression.

"well, we better figure something out and quick, the season will end before we know it." christian told them, "summer break is a couple of weeks away."

"he needs to talk to sebastian," checo told them. they turned to look at the mexican confused as to what he meant, "no one understands better than seb the position charles is in. and he looks up to him, he'll listen to him."

"sebastian is going to be at suzuka," christian said, "get him to talk to sebastian."

"i'm on it," teagan said, determination evident in her voice.

Steve Harrington was totally okay. 

Or at least, he wanted people to assume he was okay. 

Because if he was okay, then the others would be too. The others would have hope that things would get better, that life moves on and that the world won’t always be so bleak and wretched because Steve Harrington is okay. And if he is okay, then they can be okay too. 

He needed to be okay because Dustin and Erica were young and impressionable. They had seen things no kid their age should have seen, or been put in a position where they were risking their lives to help him and Robin escape the grasps of an evil Russian corporation. He needed to be strong for them, so that they knew if they weren’t okay, he would be the shoulder they could lean on. 

He needed to be okay for Robin because she was new to this. Less than two weeks ago she barely believed in the air conditioning unit that supposedly worked in the Scoops Ahoy staff room and then she had the shit show of Hawkins’ deepest secrets thrusted upon her in the worst ways possible. He needed to stay resilient to show her that it gets easier to deal with, that he had dealt with it the last two years and he was absolutely fine. 

He needed to be okay for Max because no one should go through the pain of grief at such a young age. She watched that monster take over her brother and use him as a pawn. She watched him fight back and set himself free from its reins. And then she watched him be ripped apart, limb by limb so she and her friends could have a chance of surviving that cursed night. He needed to be present so she knew that not everyone in her life was gone, that even if he could never fill the hole Billy left, he can sure as hell be at her side whilst she patched it up.

He needed to be okay for the kids because they had been split up when they needed to stick together. He knew Joyce had her reasons for moving, and he respected them. Hell, he thought what she was doing was so damn brave, to leave the one place she only ever knew for the sake of giving her children a safe place to grow up. But he knew it broke the kids’ hearts to be torn away from each other, to be so unsure of the future they had together. He needed to be committed so they knew he wasn’t going anywhere, because god he knew how much it sucked when the person you needed was never around. 

Steve Harrington needed to be okay, even if he really, really wasn’t.

Carlos Sainz had just turned twenty years old. And to commemorate this moment, his closest friends decided to introduce him to a traditional ritual of adulthood: visiting a local club. Carlos was elated and equally nervous. The idea of visiting a club seemed extremely tempting. However, he did not expect the extraordinary encounter that would await him that night.

Upon entering the club, Carlos couldn't help but notice the fascinating atmosphere. The incandescent glow of the neon lights and the neutral-colored walls that followed the r&b music playing in the place created an attractive scene. In the middle of all that, like a red rose among thorns, was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen: Catalina Muñoz. He just couldn't take his eyes off her all night.

With her beautiful brown skin, her hazel eyes, her dyed blonde hair, and beautiful lips Catalina was a sight to behold. Carlos was drawn to Catalina like a moth to a flame. He found every one of her movements incredibly attractive: the way she served drinks skillfully, how she communicated with customers, and how she carried herself with grace. It was irresistible to him.

Overwhelmed by her magnetism, Carlos mustered up the courage to walk towards the bar. By engaging in a conversation with her filled with flirtatious comments, Carlos little by little built a surprising relationship with Catalina. His playful banter was met with Catarina's lively charm and witty repartee. The chemistry and tension between them was palpable.

With each passing minute, the bar faded into the background. Carlos found himself trapped in Catalina's captivating aura. They seemed isolated from the rest of the world, as they continued their faint smiles and playful banter.

A gleam in Catalina's eyes revealed her hidden interest in Carlos. Her prolonged eye contact and her continued initiative to engage him in conversation all spelled a silent confession of her attraction to him.

However, as two-thirty in the morning approached, Catalina announced the end of her shift. With a hint of mischief, she mentioned her availability to spend some time together on a warm night in the heat of Madrid. A proposal that Carlos accepted with enthusiasm.

As the night came to an end, Carlos escorted Catalina back to her apartment. He hesitated at her for a moment before leaning in to kiss her and she met his lips eagerly. Carlos couldn't believe his luck. And he knew this was the start of something special.

Thus, a visit to a seemingly normal club became an extraordinary night. A night of low expectations blossomed into a basket of unforgettable memories. Carlos's first experience in a club was truly memorable. He mingled with new faces; But the most important thing is that he met Catalina, the woman of his life, in a meeting that he would cherish forever. His birthday outing ended up giving him a cherished memory and a new feeling thanks to the intriguing and beautiful barista.

Hii for all those waiting for the f&f x stray kids fic, I swear I already have something written in my drafts, I just can't finish it, my mind throws me five thousand different things to write and if I want it to be coherent I have to focus on one path, I just need a little more time.
