characters who view themselves as tools/weapons first and people second... characters who martyr themselves for a cause because they think that's the only way they can be worth something... characters who push themselves past their breaking point again and again and again... characters for whom devotion and masochism are inseparable... characters whose self-sacrifice becomes self-annihilation...... what was my point again? i had a point. anyway.

Today I wanted to write, but I wasn't sure if a piece of dialogue was accurate, so I taught myself how to play shogi, watched a forty-minute video of character dialogue from a specific video game, drank several glasses of orange juice, paced up and down the stairs for several minutes, took a several hour long nap break, ate yogurt and cold chicken, listened to a music album twice while doing nothing else, asked my family to describe the action of pushing a chair, attempted to simulate the acoustics of a library, spent an hour doing chess puzzles, and went down several Wikipedia rabbit holes.

I got absolutely no writing done.

Probably just going to cut that dialogue out in the end anyways lol
