Something like this would be so colossally helpful. I'm sick and tired of trying to research specific clothing from any given culture and being met with either racist stereotypical costumes worn by yt people or ai generated garbage nonsense, and trying to be hyper specific with searches yields fuck all. Like I generally just cannot trust the legitimacy of most search results at this point. It's extremely frustrating. If there are good resources for this then they're buried deep under all the other bullshit, and idk where to start looking.
Walk into Tolkien, D&D, Dragon Age, etc elf fandoms.
Tap mic.
Say "Elves should have facial and body hair "
Watch as countless terrified of the concept weaklings are fainting.
This drives me crazy. These characters are not real. As much as they’re relatable, and can feel real at times; they’re not living, breathing people. They can’t feel pain, trauma, happiness or guilt. Showing that character in pain, or suffering trauma is not harming them. They’re NOT real.
But you know who is? That person who has the “wrong opinion.” That artist who didn’t make the character to your liking. That writer who made a fic that you didn’t like. I’ve seen individuals and cliques in fandoms shrug off harassment, sending death threats, doxxing, and life ruination because said person expressed a dislike for a character or a pairing.
What’s worse is when the group enables that behavior and try to hand wave it away as someone “expressing their trauma” or they attempt to find dirt on the victim to justify it no matter how flimsy. Those people are culpable but if you’re an enabler you’re not different than the perpetrators.
It's really fucked up when you treat characters like people and people like characters.
I’m confused…so are women not allowed to participate in combat? If women are engaging in a combat scenario then are men not supposed to defend themselves? I’m just confused as to what the point, ly0nstea is trying to make. In this case Zuko is the aggressor so Katara has a right to strike back at him and defend herself.
To be clear, if men are considered egalitarian for considering women to be of equal measure and skill, then women are as well.
I’m just confused as to everyone is trying to say.
zuko is not sexist,he admires, respects, loves katara #malewife.
He regularly tried to beat the shit outta her and stole from her also liking one girl doesnt make you not sexist
