Like it took them about a year after they defeated Muzan for them to realize they like each other. And then about another year for them to actually get together! When Felix was 9 her family got locked in a room to starve to death, as punishment for helping a wanted criminal [who was framed he didn't actually commit the crime] After about a week Everyone but Felix died and in a desperate attempt to live for her family. She processed to survive for 9 months off 4 rotting corpses. She was then saved by one of the old Hashiras after having finding her while tracking down a Demon. The hashria then raised her to be a Demon Slayer. She does still eat flesh but since becoming a Demon she usually ends up eating Demon flesh instead of human.
