I don't have the small town issue, but I do understand it for the times I have to go to more isolated places.

The real problem for me tho are those group activities and missions that can only be achieved by gathering more people. I'm a very introverted person, I don't go out that much, when I do it's to meet the very few friends that I have and only one plays the game as well but we never really care about it cause it's rare that we can be together.

I also really struggle to make new social interactions, so making new friends just to play pokémon go is a big challenge for me to just do it like that, even if I need and miss it most times I'm playing.

Another problem is the routes, where you can't just let it walk without having the screen on. I live in a place that is not safe to just walk the street with your phone in hand, so you have to choose between risking it or not even doing the route in the first place. Besides, I find it very dangerous to walk while staring at your phone for obvious reasons.

I really wish Niantic would take those things more consideration, cause it just made me give up the game for a long while before coming back. I just didn't completely gave up cause of emotional attachment, but I know that it must have people who just drops it for good.

I love pokemon go, I really do. But the game isn't made for small communities.

It annoys me that almost ten years later, the game still only caters to heavily populated areas. I used to live near a mid sized town and had a pretty decent play space. But I've never lived in a big city where pokestops, pokemon, and other players are abundant.

Now, I live in a teeny tiny town that requires driving into the next city over in either direction to do most things. There's a park five minutes from me and I do try to get out there at least once a week, but it's still small, and I pretty much just lap the playground, hitting the same 3 stops over and over.

All of these features that incentivize playing in groups are useless here. Mega and Legendary raids? Can only play through campfire, and remote raid passes are expensive. I used to have a ton of remote raid passes because of covid, but Niantic took those away. This new Dynamax feature? Can only get the starters on my own. Party play? What the heck is it? Where is a party to play with?

Idk, it's just frustrating. I love playing; it gets me active and does help me socialize with the few people I play with. But I constantly feel like us small communities are left out. No, I know we are because I've seen screenshots from better populated areas.
