I didn't even process this before, but if Aven was asleep next to Ratio at the bar, then Ratio had to have been waiting for him to wake up the whole time

Just imagine, they go to the bar together and drink their asses off, and Aven probably gets his ass drunk asf

So now Aven is asleep next to Ratio, as he waits for him to wake up, probably catching glimpses of his smug facade slip and disappear for a moment before it reappears again before he passed out

And as he's waiting, he wonders just what he has been through as he sits in inner turmoil, knowing that he has to betray his friend, and sentence him to death in the dreamscape

Diverse skin color can make your character designs so much more interesting, why skip out on it?

Especially in a region meant to be based on the middle east, its completely disrespectful, and even from an aesthetics standpoint alot of these designs clash badly with the pale skin

I can't stop thinking about a fifteen-year-old abandoned teenager who spends half the day at school and then regularly visits his grandfather, from whom you can't get a word of affection.

I think about a very independent boy who has to do all the housework, washing, cleaning, cooking, doing homework, because there is no one else to take care of him. I think about how lonely he is, even though he looks so bright and funny outwardly. I think about how attentive and kind he is to others, and loneliness has not hardened him.

I think about how he, in turn, simply and naturally treats his loneliness without dramatizing, although there is no one nearby, and it can be too quiet sometimes.

I think that he got used to pretend, to wear a mask and smile. I think about a strong, persistent boy, who has no time to concern about himself with his heart full of sympathy and compassion to others.

I think about a mature child who easily takes responsibilities and admits his blunders (even if he is in no way to blame).

And you literally learn all this from the first pages of the manga.

Just caught up with the manga and I vibe with this. Spoiler the last couple of chapters are so sad, I cant shshshshdhdhhd

Me, finally breaks down and reads SPY x FAMILY and sees how wholesome it is:

psiprise encounter

the way loid and yor have lived through the most tumultuous and depraved childhoods but they do everything in their power to ensure anya never has to go through what they did 😭😭😭 nowhere was this more apparent to me than in this little scene at the end of the chapter when anya brings home her bad test grades, but instead of reprimanding her for it, they cheer her up with her favorite food. it was such a small moment but it really stuck with me....they make sure she is loved all the time and add so much joy and warmth in her life

Kuroo who has a framed picture of you smiling on his desk at his office. He loves to stare at it during his breaks because he’s so in love with your smile, with you especially. But, Kuroo being Kuroo will obviously change the picture to you and him kissing whenever he has someone coming in his office to discuss whatever. He loves showing off your relationship because, yo, look at him. Look at how lucky he is to get someone like you to love him back.

Kenma who doodles you as some of his favourite video game characters on his notebook during class (his favourite so far is you dressed up as Zelda). Though he’ll never let anyone ever see this notebook and hides it every time you or Kuroo comes over to his house (Kuroo did once found him smiling slightly at it but didn’t say anything, he’s just happy that his best friend found someone to be in love with. He also knows that Kenma wont speak to him for a month if he brings it up).

Bokuto who thought it‘d be a good idea to put you on his shoulders while he jumped, ready to spike the ball Atsumu just set him. Yet, even when you both fall on the cold floor, you can’t seem to get mad at him. His boisterous but sweet laugh making you smile instead. He does check up on you afterwards and feels really bad. He promised he’ll buy you ice cream and will cuddle you all night long.

Akaashi who now, whenever he goes to the library, reads the books he thinks you’d like and later on, reads them to you, hoping that you’ll like them just as much as he hoped so. And if you do, you can’t imagine how happy he is, since it means that he does know you well enough to understand your likes and dislikes.

Tendou who loves to tickle you out of nowhere. Your laugh is his favourite sound ever and just knowing that you’re happy makes him happy. But he especially loves it if it’s because of him that you’re laughing. He’d also rather have you ugly laughing your ass off over anything else. He just finds it endearing, can you really blame him?

Sugawara who shows pictures of you to his little students during the day. He’ll tell them about the cute face that you made a few days ago and what your favourite food is. And when you finally visit his classroom for the first time, the kids can’t help but love you immediately, already knowing so much about you.

Kageyama who loves to burry his face in your stomach after a rough day at practice. Your smell is invading his nostrils and it relaxes him to the point where he falls asleep. Once he wakes up, he’ll be all blushy because you’re still running your hand through his hair. He’ll stutter a bit as he gets up and eventually kisses your cheek before sprinting towards the bathroom, wanting to take a shower and wash his embarrassment away. You still can’t believe how even after years of dating he still acts like he used to back in high school. But you absolutely do not mind, it’s really cute.

Tsukishima who teases you to no end when you get scared during a horror movie but is still spooning you and holding your hand because as much as he denies it, he never wants you to be afraid. He promised himself he’d keep you safe no matter what and he swore he’ll do it.

Oikawa who brags to his fan girls about how amazing, talented and beautiful you are and how lucky he is to have you. They’re not even mad, they just find it so cute how in love he is with you (even though they kinda wish it was them instead of you. They’re still happy for the two of you :)).

Iwaizumi who gently kisses your knuckles as a greeting. For him, the little gestures mean more than the big ones. For example, he’d rather gift you matching bracelets he made himself rather than a necklace bought at the jewelry store. To someone else, it might not mean much but it doesn’t matter since you know that he loves you infinity and back.

Atsumu who teaches you how to set in you guy’s shared house’s backyard. He’s so patient with you and gentle its a bit weird of him but you don’t mind at all. He laughs every time you miss but still helps you and shows you how to improve. And whenever you do it right, be ready to get kisses from a very proud and smiley Atsumu.

Osamu who makes you your lunch for every day. And it includes heart shaped onigiris, a few vegetables because “if y’a eat yer vegetables, it’ll reduce yer the risks of getting a heart attack or a stroke and y’a ain’t allowed to have that! I’ll be sad if y’a do!”, meat since “y’a need some proteins in yer pretty body!” and a little sticky note with a reminder to take care of yourself and that he can’t wait to see you at home tonight.

Suna who has multiple photo albums of you on his phone. There’s one with all the pictures you send him; one with all the pictures he took on dates with you; another one with you doing grimaces and other weird faces; one more with all the selfies he took with you etc…. sadly for him though, the twins know about this and teases him. But it’s okay since he can just say that hey, at least he‘s not single.

Kita who can’t help but smile every time he sees you. It’s automatic for him at this point. But he just loves you so much and has you so close to his heart that his chest tightens a bit at the mere thought of being away from you for too long.

Sakusa who stops by the flower shop every Friday night after his practice and gets you your favourite flowers. It doesn’t matter if you had a fight or if nothing big happened. He just wants to show you he loves you and thinks about you.

But it’s only when you come back to the bank with a sleeping Teucer in your arms who’s all snuggled up against you that he knows that that’s it, you’re it for him.

Albedo who has a notebook reserved just for random little sketches of you. He likes drawing you. You are after all, his favourite piece of art and the best view of his world.

Ayato who doesn’t find boba tea as enjoyable if he’s not drinking it with you. Suddenly, without your presence, the drink loses tastes. He doesn’t know why. Maybe he’s just so in love with you that everything around him seems lifeless and sad if you’re not there close to him.

Zhongli who starts to drink his tea like you. He now unintentionally holds his cup the same way that you do, adds the same quantity of sugar that you do and heck, even starts mixing it like you do. He only realized when you pointed it out one day on your date. He apologized and tried going back to his own way but has completely forgot how he used to drink his tea.

Xiao who likes to feed the stray cats wandering around Bishui Plain and play with them for a while before going back to whatever he was doing before. He always thought he’d never get found out but when one day he doesn’t show up on your date, you decided to investigate because Xiao is never late. Which is when you find him with two cats on his lap and one on his head, all three taking a nap. He made you promise to never tell anyone.

Diluc who gives you his umbrella when it rains. He’d share with you but he doesn’t want your side to get wet, you did spend a while doing your hair and dress up for you guy’s date and he wouldn’t want to be the one to ruin your hard work. Or even worse, you could get sick. Of course, he’d nurse your back to health but he’d still feel guilty for not taking good enough care of you.

Kaeya who wears the ring you gave him for his birthday on a chain around his neck all the time. He calls it his ‘good luck charm’ and kisses it every time before going on a mission. He thought he lost it one day and came back crying to you, apologizing and saying that it must’ve break during battle when it reality he just forgot it on his nightstand in the morning lol.

Kazuha who writes you poems to compliment you. He believes that you deserve more than a simple “you’re beautiful” or “I like your hair”. So he’ll go out of his way to write you countless of poems just so he can describe exactly how he found your hair that day. (and hopefully fluster you because he is a tease after all and finds you extremely cute with your flushed cheeks)

Thoma who wakes you up with kisses. It starts with a kiss on your forhehead, then a kiss on each cheek, followed by a kiss on your nose and finally a kiss on your lips. The giggle you let out each time when he’s done is just so adorable and endearing to him that he never wants to stop.

Itto who can’t help but take you in his arms and spin around with you all squished to his chest whenever he gets excited. He does it unintentionally, really. He’s just so happy and you’re there, it’s not really he’s fault!

Dainsleif who puts his cape over your shoulders when he sees men looking at you in weird ways. The problem isn’t you, it’s them. And Dainsleif knows that. So he’s gonna prive your body to their eyes. No one should ever be allowed to look at you like that. (he also gets to see you drawing in his cape which is a rly adorable sight hehe)

A/N: I blushed quite a few times writing this and I hope you will too, hehe ~. I think Ayato's is my personal favorite (but I'm a giant simp for him anyway). I hope all Ayato wanters will be Ayato havers! Bring that man home! Fingers crossed for everyone. I pulled him this week and I love him a lot ♥

ALBEDO

You were bent over your desk, scribbling away in your notebook. You’ve been on this research project for months now and it started to frustrate you.

Albedo had helped you with some of the research this week and even he seemingly had hit a dead end with it, so you were starting to ask yourself if what you tried to achieve was even possible. If even he didn’t know any further, how should you?

Although overall it wasn’t just a loss, considering you got to spend some time together with Albedo alone. It was nothing romantic between you two but at least you always enjoyed being around him. Even though deep down you sometimes wished it was, you would never admit that openly though.

You continued writing down some more formulas, trying some different combinations and suddenly things started to fall into place in your head and you hurried over to your reagents, mixed them together according to the formula you just calculated, shaked it a little and - it worked!

“Yes! I finally got it, oh bless Barbatos!” You yelled and jumped up in joy.

Sucrose, who was in the lab together with you was startled because of your sudden outburst and spilled some of her reagents in the process.

“Oh damn! I didn’t mean to scare you Sucrose, I’m so sorry. Let me help you clean this.”

“It’s alright. I know you’ve been working day and night on this so… I understand.” She said quietly, already starting to wipe up the liquids she spilled, before looking at you expectantly.

“So you finally got the reaction you tried to get for months now?”

“I do, I can’t believe it!”

“You should go and show Albedo, too! I believe he should be in the library.”

“Oh, you’re right. He’ll be happy to hear it was finally a success!” You quickly grabbed your notes and the little flask with the liquid and rushed out of the laboratory and headed for the library.

Once you arrived there you flung the door open probably a bit too loud, causing Lisa to peek up from her book with a scolding look on her face though it softened again when she saw it was you.

“Oh, it’s you, cutie? Why are you in such a hurry?” She asked curiously.

“I just made the biggest breakthrough in my research and I finally got it! I got to tell Albedo. Is he here?”

“Oh, is that so? I’m not surprised you want to tell him first. He was in the library earlier and just headed down to the lake about ten minutes ago.” She chuckled and shot you a knowing look.

“What do you m-? Nevermind, anyway awesome, thanks!” You slammed the door shut again and rushed out of the Favonius Headquarters and down to the lake. It’s gotten dark outside already and the lanterns in the street were lit up. You didn’t even realize how long you’ve been working for again today. You rushed down the stairs next to the waypoint and out the gate and there you saw him.

Albedo sat in the grass by the water, sketching away in his sketchbook. You hugged your notes closer to your chest in anticipation and had a really hard time holding yourself back so you wouldn't start yelling because you were so excited to tell him about your findings.

“Albedo?” He slowly lifted his eyes off his sketchbook and looked at you over his shoulder.

“Ah, good evening. Is something the matter?”

You hastily nodded, walked over to him and sat down by his side, handing him your research notes with a proud grin. He quickly flicked through the pages and his eyes widened in surprise.

“You did it?”

“I did indeed! I wonder why it took me so long in the first place. Now that I know it, it all seems so logical. I mixed these two ingredients I noted down here together - just a slightly different method than the one we used the other day - grinded some crystalfly cores and put them in and, boom!”

You pulled out the flask with the liquid, shaked it a few times and it started glowing bright blue, so bright you almost could not look at it directly.

“I hope this is going to make a big difference. I can’t wait to show it to the Adventurer's Guild, I’m sure they could use it for their ruin explorations and – Bedo?”

He looked at you with a spellbound expression and the corners of his mouth twitched up ever so slightly. When he saw you gush about your research and saw the flask light up your smiling face he was awestruck. He was convinced he’d never seen something more perfect in his entire life before. You were far better than you gave yourself credit for all the time. Even he didn't manage to find the right formula for your research, but here you were, impressing him yet again.

With newfound courage he leaned over to you and softly pressed his lips against yours, putting his hand at the back of your neck sending your mind into a spiral and making butterflies erupt in your stomach. When he broke the kiss he looked you deep in the eyes and put his forehead against yours.

“Do you have any idea how beautiful you are, when you talk about things you’re passionate about?"

AYATO

“Okay we need some more benches here and the food stalls go over there. Please check if we have enough ingredients in stock… here is the list!”

You quickly scribble down some notes and hand it over to an assistant behind you. Saying you’d be drowning in work at the moment would be an understatement. The yearly Inazuma festival was right around the corner, in fact just this evening the gates should open and you could say the planning had reached its peak and it was far away from optimal.

As usual the Yashiro Commission was the main host for the festival and as their newest housekeeper you wanted this job to be done flawlessly. Thoma, your housekeeper colleague set the bar quite high. He wasn’t even breaking a sweat despite all the work he was doing. Meanwhile you were struggling under the workload but you knew it was going to be worth it in the end. This festival needed to be absolutely amazing - also because you wanted to keep your job.

“Alright!” Your assistant bowed his head and rushed off to take care of the things you noted down for him. Once you had a moment to yourself, you sat down and exhaled, wiping away some sweat on your forehead, going through the things in your head that you still had to get done until this evening.

“Taking a break?”

“Thoma!” You jumped back to your feet. He looked as motivated and cheerful as ever, not even a single hint of fatigue showing on his face. “I was just about to continue!” You lied and he threw you a knowing but compassionate look.

“I know how you feel, it’s a bit much, eh?” He asked to which you just nodded and looked at the ground in embarassment.

“Well, we’re almost done. Can you just hang the lanterns in the trees over there? I’ll handle the rest! Go back to the headquarters after, take a shower and get a quick power nap in. How about that?”

“Really? You will have to do so much alone then!”

“Ah, don’t worry about it, I’ve done all the organization and planning of this stage alone the past few years. I’m used to it!” Thoma just chuckled and rested one hand on your shoulder reassuringly.

“Alright, just these lanterns then. Thank you, Thoma!”

“Ah, don’t mention it!”

You grabbed the lanterns and headed over to the group of Yumemiru trees that needed decorating. But, how were you supposed to get the lanterns up there? There were no ladders in sight so climbing on there was the only plausible answer to that, so that's what you did. You only held yourself up with one hand and tried to attach the lanterns with the other one quite clumsily, legs shaking more and more and just as you got the lanterns hanging you lost your footing and fell backwards down the tree. You mentally prepared for a hard impact with the ground but instead you just bumped into something, or rather, someone soft, who got knocked to the ground with you together.

“Oh, be careful there or you’ll hurt yourself!” Oh no, you knew that voice! It was none other than…

“Lord Kamisato! Oh archons, I’m so sorry!” You quickly stood up, looking down at your boss and the Yashiro Commissioner himself, Kamisato Ayato, lying in the dirt at your feet because of your clumsiness. The thought that you’d fallen on top of him while being all sweaty, as well as ruining his pristine white suit, made you feel incredibly embarrassed. You assumed you might have to prepare to look for a new job soon because you had just royally screwed up.

“Oh no, your suit! I’ll have that cleaned immediately. Are you hurt? Please, I didn’t mean t–” You were interrupted by an amused chuckle which made you shoot him a puzzled look.

“Please, do not trouble yourself with that right now. I shall send someone else to get it cleaned later.”

He stood back up and brushed some of the dirt off his suit, looked you right in the eyes and smiled politely which made your heart skip a beat. Curse you for being so smitten with your boss.

“I will head back to the estate right now. Thoma let me know that you were done with everything, so I went looking for you, so that we could head back together.”

“Uh–, yes, of course, my Lord!”

Once you were back at the estate, you showered, put on your comfy kimono and just as you were about to lay down on your futon to rest, you heard a knock on your door. When you opened it you were quite surprised and also heavily flustered at the scene that presented itsself in front of your eyes. Ayato stood there, in a casual kimono with a sliver of his chest showing. You’d never seen him wear anything but his usual suit and you could feel the blush rise to your cheeks, your eyes transfixed on the skin you could see. Oh Archons, you’re staring.

“Uhm, what do you need, my Lord?”

You still felt embarrassed because of what happened earlier. Considering that you fell onto him, you prepared for the worst - you assumed you were about to be fired. It didn't help that you just very obviously stared at his chest either.

He took a few steps closer to you until he was standing in your room but instead of the written notice you expected, he handed you the cup he was holding.

“My servant brought these from the city, I believe he called it Dango… Boba? I wanted you to have one, too. It tastes quite pleasant.” You were a bit taken aback because you didn't quite understand why he'd bother to come to your room for this, but thanked him nonetheless and tried it. It tasted incredible, smooth on the tongue and the bubbles were like an explosion of sweetness in your mouth.

“Oh wow, it’s delicious, it's so sweet and – my lord?” You looked up and his face was suddenly dangerously close to yours. His lavender eyes darted to your lips with a look you couldn’t quite decipher and before you knew it he buried his hands in the hair on the back of your head and kissed you so longingly it made your head spin. He was glad he finally brought up the courage to do so because feeling you lean back into the kiss made him feel like the happiest man alive. When the two of you separated again his eyes had an entracing glint to them and were fixated on yours.

“It’s not as sweet as you are.”

It was a nice summer day, the sky over Inazuma was clear and not a single cloud could be seen. Half asleep you were lying in the grass underneath one of the Yumemiru trees right outside of Inazuma city. The wind brushed softly over your hair and skin and you felt like all sorrows and worries of your everyday life were washed away at that moment.

“Oi, there you are! I’ve been looking for you everywhere. Shinobu said you went here and I– oh, did I wake you up?” A loud voice suddenly pulled you out of your half asleep state. When you slowly opened your eyes the face of a very familiar crimson oni appeared in your field of view.

Itto had been your best friend for years now and it never got boring with him. He may look intimidating at first with his horns and red markings on his skin, but once you get to know him a little better, you quickly come to realize he is a huge, dopey guy who deep down has a heart of gold. You often wished you could be more than friends but didn’t dare to act on your feelings because you feared he would reject you and that would most likely end up ruining your friendship - and you couldn't risk that. Being close to him and having him around was enough for you, or at least that’s what you constantly told yourself.

“Nah, it’s alright, I didn’t sleep - yet, at least. Just dozing off a little.” You yawned and sat up, stretching your back and arms. “So tell me, why were you looking for me?”

Itto’s eyes lit up like a christmas tree when you asked him. He pulled a slightly crumpled leaflet of some sort out of his pocket and handed it to you.

“Narukami Onikabuto Summer Tournament?” You read out aloud. You knew he loved beetle fights and had often challenged you to them as well. “I take it you want to participate?”

“Yes! And you absolutely need to help me search for a beetle. Pretty please?”

“You don’t have to ask me twice! You do know it starts in an hour already though, right?”

“Awesome… hold on wait a minute – In an hour?!” He almost screamed.

“In an hour.” You reassured him and pointed at the date and time on the leaflet he gave you.

“Oh crap, let’s go! I need to find a beetle before that! Oh shit, come on, hurry up!”

Itto immediately pulled you up and dragged you behind him by the hand. The touch of his hand made you quite flustered and you prayed he wouldn’t notice.

He led you to a spot where a lot of beetles in various sizes sat on the trees.

“Alright, now we only need to find the best one!” He said and stormed off to inspect every Onikabuto with childlike amazement in his eyes and a wide grin on his face. You followed him closely and looked around, to see if you could spot a fitting beetle yourself.

Your gaze fell onto quite an exceptional specimen high up in one of the trees nearby. You tapped Itto's shoulder and pointed at the beetle.

“How about that one?”

“Ooooh - it’s perfect. That’s the one! Come on, get on my shoulder and get it fast!” He leaned down so you could climb on him and you did, blushing slightly when you felt his hands on your shins, supporting your balance. You desperately tried to brush the thoughts out of your head and tried to concentrate on the matters at hand.

You picked the Onikabuto off the tree and placed it into Itto’s hands after he’d let you back down. For a man of his size he was surprisingly gentle and seeing him look at the beetle so adorably was a sight to behold and it made the heart in your chest flutter.

“Oh, I just knew you were gonna find the best one again! There you are, Itto Jr.! Let’s go win this tournament together, hmm?”

“Itto Jr.?” You asked, laughing and raising an eyebrow in amusement.

“Yes of course, that’s what we’re gonna name him! Come on, let's head back quickly, we can’t be late!”

You both rushed back to the city and arrived at the tournament just in time. You stood by the side the whole time and watched how Itto and Itto Jr. crushed every opponent they faced relentlessly. With every win, Itto’s smile became wider and wider until he ultimately rose victorious.

“I won!” He yelled. “Itto the one and Oni-kabuto Tamer. Haha, I can’t believe it!”

It was then he turned around and saw you standing there applauding him and smiling cutely. He couldn’t help himself - he ran over to you, quickly lifted you up with his strong arms and pressed a long and passionate kiss right on your lips. He was surprised as well about how bold he’d become all of a sudden, finally collecting the courage to do what he had meant to do for the longest time now. He only hoped it didn’t bother you when he saw you eyes widen in shock but when you leaned back into him and cupped his face with both your hands all of his doubts were washed away. When he broke the kiss he only saw that you were a flustered and blushing mess and it made his heart almost burst out of his chest.

“You have no idea, how long I’ve meant to do this already.”

Kazuha’s kisses are carefree, gentle and fleeting. He loves your lips, he loves brushing his against yours, only kissing you ever so slightly. Sometimes, you’ll feel his sudden kiss as you lie against the grass, basking in the morning sunlight. Other times, his kisses grow more passionate. Kissing you deeply, passionately, yet it still feels fleeting, like you can never keep him in place, like you can never get enough. As how the night breeze passes by and the dark sky turns into dawn. His mood depends on the state of nature. Either way, he has his own ways of showing his affections.

Thoma is man of consent. Especially during the initial stages of the relationship. He has very good self control and rarely kisses you without asking beforehand. His kisses are slow and genuine. You can tell how careful he’s being with you with the way his lips so very gently move against yours. You’ll feel his hand trace your arm and the back of your head holding you in place. He’s very aware of you and your feelings. Thus he tends to be slow-paced and would often hesitate to do things that might make you uncomfortable. Chances are you will have to ask —or initiate— if you want anything more.

Itto’s kisses are impulsive, and rough, just like him. You’ll often find him hugging or kissing you out of nowhere. He tends to be clumsy and you can’t help but giggle every time he tries to kiss you properly. His lips always eagerly find yours and sometimes you feel his canines graze your lips —and a bite— but he never means to hurt. It might take him time to learn but with the amount of energy and self esteem he has it’s difficult to hold himself back. He might boast if you praise him but grows flustered whenever you initiate something first.

Gorou’s kisses are playful and full of love. They tend to be short, but turns longer when he feels needy or possessive. He kisses you all over, not necessarily on the lips. Sometimes you’ll feel him leave a kiss whenever he nuzzles against the crook of your neck. He’s a lot more gentler than Itto but you’ll definitely feel a few bites here and there. He adores giving but loves it even more when he’s on the receiving end. Tell him he’s been good and give kiss him, you’ll see him blush and pout but the way his tail wags gives him away. He wants to please so he loves it when you praise and reward him.

Warnings: slight elements of crackfic, mild angst to comfort, some of these might be a little yandere? used April Fools as an excuse, I don’t actually like playing these kinds of pranks but it’s pretty fun to write, I don’t suggest you do it in real life (but I know a lot of people do, haha. You do you, no judgement here) If my husband pulled this on me I’d go feral, poor him.

Aether

already gets the “oh crap” vibes as soon as you say you need to talk about something important.

The moment he sits down, his body language tells you he’s incredibly tense and nervous. Hands closed up into fists, brows furrowed, leaning forward to listen to you closely.

It doesn’t really hit him that fast and he has this blank look on his face until you stand up to leave--that’s when he snatches at your wrist.

“W-Wait,” he’s both confused and cautious. Like what he says next might change the whole thing. “Did I--Did I do something wrong? Cause if I did I--” he gulps the lump that’s forming in his throat and his eyes are getting misty. “I’ll make it right, I promise,”

“Oh gosh, Aether, I’m so sorry, it’s just a prank! I’m just joking! I know it’s stupid, but um...April Fools!” 

His whole body slumps backwards on the chair while heaving a huge sigh of relief, head lolling backwards. He can only mutter “Y/N don’t do that again...” with a voice that’s a little wobbly.

Albedo

Does not get the vibe you’re trying to give at all.

He actually thought it was something practically “important” like how you might not have enough firewood for the next few days up on Dragonspine. (Yes that merits a serious conversation for him)

When you get to the part where you say you’re not a good match his head tilts the slightest bit sideways but his expression is still blank.

He doesn’t hear the rest of your sentences after that because he’s trying to go through his memories of the past few days and wondering if something was amiss. 

He can’t come up with a conclusion because everything was normal up until today. 

But he’ll still respect your decision

He’ll look down solemnly at his hands, “...Being with you... was a great privilege.” his hands start to grasp at each other when it sinks in that you want to leave the relationship. “Perhaps you’ll find a better match than I could ever be,” 

Basically you’ve struck his secret insecurity that he might not be good enough for you.

Get down on your knees and apologize this instant!!!!!!

“Oh, Albedo... That’s not... It’s just a joke, it’s April Fools today dear... Do you really think that way? I’m so sorry...”

Cue a long conversation that got deep because of a prank. You reassure him he’s more than enough for you and you don’t stop telling him all the wonderful things you love about him until his eyes subtly light up again.

Ayato

He’s so used to business negotiations or the ‘sit down and lets talk business’ scenario so he didn’t think much of it.

He listens closely. I mean CLOSELY. It’s his job to negotiate with others so he has to clearly listen to what all the parties have to say for themselves.

When you get to the “maybe we’re not a good match part” he lifts a hand to his chin and lets out a hum.

He closes his eyes for a moment, his face is still calm, like he heard nothing at all. But then he decides to question YOU. “You say that we’re not a good match. Though, you say it with uncertainty,” smiles pleasantly at you “Care to tell me the reasons why you think we aren’t a good match, dove?”

You really thought you could argue with this guy lmao

So you grasp at straws and tell him the first thing you can think of. “W-Well... You’re an important man and I’m...just plain old me,” you laugh nervously because you’ve accidentally opened up about your honest insecurity.

But he considers that seriously. He asks you another question, “But do you love me?”

“Yes?”

“And I feel the same way. Where there is true love, nothing should be allowed to stand in its way...On the contrary, my love, you’re far from plain,” his hand moves away from his chin to graze his fingertips on your cheek. “You are...quite extraordinary. I only wish you could see yourself through my eyes,”

You’ve forgotten that you played a prank and just fell harder for the guy

Bennett

He thought that you just wanted to say you didn’t wanna join his adventure team anymore

So when you finish your whole speech his mouth is left slightly agape and he’s staring at you trying to process the moment. 

“...I-It’s just the adventuring, right? If you’re tired of going out all the time you can always rest up! That’s no big deal! I can go by myself from time to time!” He raises a fist to pump himself up but he only manages a small, uncertain smile.

“No? That’s not it? Oh...” His whole mood goes down and it’s like a gloomy cloud has set atop his head. 

“Well... I was thinking my luck was running out anyway... You know? Hehe,” He still picks his head up and scratches the back of it with a wobbly smile. “I mean, I’ve been so incredibly lucky all that time just spending it with you! I guess...that whole chunk of luck is just coming back at me with a whole chunk of bad...”

As a last effort, he gives you the brightest, still genuine smile that radiates love. “But it was great, it was really great! I loved it and...and...I love--” his voice breaks off at the end and he tries so hard not to cry and you quickly explain to him that it was all just a joke for April Fools.

“R-Really?” but his tears have already spilled out and is falling down his cheeks. He sniffles and wipes them dry while saying with a trying hard not to break voice “You--You really got me there!” 

(Everytime I write for Bennett it always has something to do with his bad luck and adventuring. I’m sorry.)

Chongyun

Scared. Like literally hands trembling scared the moment you say it’s important in that serious voice. 

Serious eyes that are boring into you as you speak. They slowly soften around the edges when you come to your conclusion.

It’s like his heart shatters. He’s a somewhat shy and reserved guy that takes a while to warm up, so it literally shakes his whole world when you, someone who had been so patient with him up until this point, wants to break up with him. 

“I...” He wants to be mature and say he’ll accept your decision but he can’t even form the words. 

“I understand,” but his eyes are already filling up with tears and they start to cascade down his cheeks even with him not blinking. 

Has more of a physical response than a wordy response. Hands crumpling his pants as he grips at them and tries to keep his bearings.

You can’t take it and apologize immediately, wiping away his tears and telling him it’s all just a joke, but he continues crying, dips his head down, puts an arm to shield his eyes as he tries to get his composure back.

“S-Sorry, I...That really scared me...”

You’re mean.

Dainsleif (might contain 2.6 quest spoilers)

Troubled, because you rarely say that it’s something important. You don’t usually draw attention to yourself so when you say that it’s something of importance Dainsleif is all ears.

Dainsleif is...quite alone, in some senses. He doesn’t think that anyone should suffer with him, so accepting that you wanted to stay by his side was also a hard decision for him. He resisted for a long time, but eventually just realized you really wanted to be there for him.

So when you come around saying this, he’s almost offended, eyes narrowing at you “Where is this coming from?”

He just doesn’t get it and it doesn’t add up. His eyes searches yours and he’s not trying to be scary but he does exude some intimidating vibes. He’s merely trying to understand if he did something wrong or if you’ve always thought that the two of you were “not a good match”.

“...I don’t think that what you say is true...If so then you wouldn’t have insisted to stay with me,” and he starts to doubt whether or not he made the right decision, letting you accompany him to journey’s end. 

You see the conflict and battle in his eyes and decide to just tell him it’s a prank without it getting too far. 

He huffs and crosses his arms above his chest. “I thought so... You wouldn’t do something...so foolish,” his words are spaced out because there’s still a bit of doubt in him and you catch on to it, reassuring him that you don’t have any intention of leaving him at all.

He sighs and gingerly thumbs your cheek. “I can only hope so... This curse...This burden...I daresay it’s made easier with your presence. Let me be selfish this once and ask you to stay...”

Diluc

He trusts and knows you, so when you said it was something important he merely thought it was just you talking about being worried about his health again cause he works too hard (you often tell him that)

But when you start talking and get to the end of your speech he’s rather astounded and concerned more than anything. 

“How long have you felt like that?” He takes this to a whole new level of serious now. Asking himself questions like ‘How did I not notice?’ ‘Which parts can I do better at?’ ‘Could we not have talked about this before it came to this conclusion?”

Reaches out with his hand to move your chin at an angle convenient for him. “Y/N, look at me. We should talk about these things before jumping to conclusions. A lot of things can be solved by talking,” 

In truth he’s panicking a little inside. What if you don’t want to talk about it anymore? What if your mind is made up? What if that’s it?

“Is there anything we can do to make things better? Has my recent sleepless nights bothered you that much? I’ll change things around to make you comfortable. You’re right, it hasn’t really done much for my health...”

When you don’t reply to anything he says there’s a bit of defeat in his eyes and his shoulders slump a little. “Y/N please...” he just wants you to say something. Anything.

“U-Uhm...Well...April Fools!” 

There’s 5 seconds of silence before he drops his hand from your chin and glares at you. It’s half mocking, half real and he stands up to walk away “I’m going back to work,” 

Is a little salty but you follow him around all day and suck up to him saying sorry in a sweet way and that you’ll make it up to him. 

(Okay, I wanted to use the Filipino word “lambing” just then. lmao. Is there an English equivalent, my Filo friends?)

Gorou

Military minded, so he doesn’t immediately think it’s about something personal.

When it dawns on him that it’s about something personal, and what more, it’s about your relationship with him, he freezes up. His ears stop twitching and his tail is frozen. 

His body language changes, he suddenly doesn’t look so confident and his whole body droops. His ears start to flatten down. 

“Were you...Were you really that unhappy? I didn’t even realize...” so much regret in his voice and he’s more worried about you than he is over himself. 

“I’m sorry, it might be too late to ask now but, is there anything I can do? I’ll...try my best! I just... I just don’t agree...I think we ARE a great match! But if you don’t think so...” hesitates back and forth whether or not to see things your way or keep with his beliefs. 

He really does think you’re the perfect companion to his otherwise busy life and you’re a delight to be around. 

He doesn’t really say much about what he thinks, opting to think before talking but his look says it all and you apologize after telling him it was just a prank. 

He blinks up at you. His ears start to twitch again and his tail swishes every so slowly. “O-Oh! I see!” 

Breaks into a bashful, neck scratching grin. “R-Right! It’s April Fools! Wow, you got me good on that one,”

Doesn’t tell you that you basically broke his heart and mended it back together all in a span of a minute.

Is secretly 1000% more attentive towards you

Itto

The word “important” is not really in his vocabulary...Well, it is, but it’s linked with things like beetle fights and food.

So he thought you were just gunna talk beetle fight strategy with him. lol.

Has this huge smile on his face when you start talking and it just gradually droops into a deep frown. 

Still tries to play it off. “Whaaaat? No way! We’re a great match! Remember that time we accidentally ordered the exact same thing for lunch, drinks and all? That was pretty cool!” 

Grins but it falters when you don’t say anything. He finally properly thinks about you actually leaving him. “I--At least we can still be friends, right? I mean, who’s gunna hype me up during my beetle fights now? My gang...? Well, yeah... they’re great and all but...”

Lips start to tremble. “Th-They’re not you, you know? It’s different! Huh? No! It’s not just about the beetle fights!” 

He has this puppy dog look on his face now “I mean, it’s all the other things too! Who-Who’s gunna kiss my hand better when I accidentally hit a boulder too hard? O-Or...” 

Goes silent, then suddenly decides to man up...but in a childish way...

“Y-You know what! Fine! If that’s what you want then...then...” but can’t finish his sentence and his lips are really starting to tremble dangerously.

So you decide to put him out of his misery and tell him it’s a joke.

“April fools...?” He looks up at you, still trying to process it...and then he breaks into a watery eyed wide smile. “APRIL FOOLS!!!” like he just discovered something great.

He manages not to shed any tears but wraps his arms tight around your waist and snuggles into your stomach while he’s sitting down. “You can’t go for real, alright?”

Kaeya

Amused and intrigued in a “What do they have up their sleeve this time?” sort of way.

He crosses his arms midway through your speech and gives you this smirk while tilting his head sideways. As if challenging you. 

“Oh dear, what an unfortunate problem we have here indeed,” he chuckles, but its not laced with humor, more of mischief.

“Not a good match you say?” He leaves his seat and saunters over to you fluidly, confidently wrapping an arm around your waist and dipping his head lower, to come face to face and almost forehead to forehead with you.

“Look me in the eye and tell me that again, kitten,” he breathes out and you have a hard time repeating your words at the sudden proximity. 

“There isn’t a better match for me anywhere in this world, Y/N. I’m afraid you’ll have to try harder than that to get rid of me,” he chuckles genuinely this time, as if thoroughly amused. 

You finally tell him it’s an April Fool’s joke and he just shrugs. “I figured. I’d like to think I’ve taken good enough care of you to make you stay for a lifetime, love.”

He presses a kiss on your forehead, “Now to worry about charming you in the next one,” and he winks.

Kazuha

calm, curious with a bit of an optimistic view. The type to go “I wonder what they want to tell me today,” but smile at the thought rather than be overly worried about it. 

So when he hears your speech, he’s taken aback. You sound so serious too! Is it a mistake? Maybe a joke? But you wouldn’t joke about this, would you?

He’s been lost in thought for a while so you ask him if he heard you.

He places his gaze on you with a small smile. “My apologies, dear,” he’s still calm about it but he’s secretly thinking of ways to solve this without having you walk away.

“I’m afraid I’ll have to learn about your thought process a little more. What aspect do you feel is “not going too well”, if you mind me asking?” 

You answer generically and tell him that you feel like he’s too good for you and that he’s extremely kind and loving while you’re not really able to contribute or give him anything.

His eyes widen for a fraction of a second but mellows off to a gentle gaze. “...You have done...a thousand more than I have for you, my love,” He closes his eyes, as if he’s sailing on a ship peacefully. “You’ve kept the nightmares away, the...solitude that used to visit me every night. Instead of waiting for the day to end, with you, I always look forward to its beginning instead,”

He opens his eyes and you see that they’re a little glassy. “So if you could just find it in your heart to reconsider, Y/N, perhaps we can work it through?”

He’s still polite than ever and you tell him it’s just a joke. His face stays passive, but he actually breathes out a sigh of relief. “Ah...I see...It’s that day today...”

He finally finds it in him to chuckle. “Well, I must say that you caught me unprepared for that one,” 

Razor

You hesitate to even try and do this to him because explaining what you want to say and then telling him it’s a joke sounds to be something that might be gravely misunderstood by him. 

But he understands and the moment you finish talking you can already see his face contort into a wince. Like something had just stabbed him painfully in the gut. 

His face scrunches up but he bows his head to hide it from you and tears just non-stop cascade from his eyes to the ground. 

“I...n-never see... Y/N again?” 

The poor thing is more of an action than words type of person and it shows easily that he’s upset. 

You immediately hug him and try to explain to him the occasion today but he still pouts and is slightly upset the rest of the day, complaining about how it’s not a good joke at all.

You agree with him and ask how you can make it up to him.

He simply asks you to stay forever.

Scaramouche

unbothered. sits down as if he’s the boss of the conversation and just stares at you through the whole thing.

When you finish, he smirks.

And it’s not just a normal smirk. It’s the go-ahead-and-try-running-away-from-me-im-just-gunna-pull-you-right-back-over smirk.

“Who put that nonsense into your head?” Raises an eyebrow and gazes at you, wondering if someone has told you that dating him was a bad idea or some crap like that. (He doesn’t deny that it’s a bad idea but you’ve stuck with him for a while now and you suddenly saying that is weird and extremely annoying to him)

He’s basically pissed off.

“Tch, go ahead if that’s what you want,” then attempts to stand and ignore you to walk away. You stop him and gape up at him. “What? That’s it? You’re just gunna walk away?”

He raises his eyebrow at you again. “I don’t have time to be playing these types of games, Y/N. If you don’t want to stay, then go,” 

In truth he might be a little, teeny, tiny, secretly hurt inside and is salty.

You huff and tell him “It’s an April Fools joke!” 

He stares at you for a good moment, then flicks your forehead really, REALLY hard. “Owww! What’s that for??”

He scoffs “For thinking of a stupid joke like that, and to remind you who you belong to, fool,” before walking away.

Turns back 5 seconds later and snatches your hand to pull you along with him.

Tartaglia

More curious than worried. So he sits down with that slight wide-eyed, ‘I’m all ears’ type of look.

He blinks and looks at you incredulously as you finish. Then, a laugh escapes his lips. It’s a strange laugh. A mixture of amused, dark and forced.

“Darling you’re...joking, right?” has a pleasant smile on his face but you can’t tell what he’s thinking.

He’s probably thinking of some ways to keep you with him, no matter the method and then he suddenly feels sentimental, thinking about that time you visited his family with him and his siblings loved you to death.

You haven’t said anything so he continues down that hole and proceeds to think about how long it took him to find someone who embraced his craziness and chaotic life like you did. 

He gets a little fidgety and instead of actually wanting to force you to stay he gives you the respect he thinks you deserves. “Y/N I... I understand it well... I don’t want you to be caught up in certain things either but...Just let me tie up some loose ends and maybe...”

but then he knows it in himself than being with him might cause a lot of trouble for you, he doesn’t really know what’ll happen in the future, what with his affiliation with the Fatui and the Abyss.

“...I promise I’ll protect you,” he doesn’t beg for you to stay but he looks at you with pleading eyes. So you tell him it’s an April Fools joke.

He blinks and opens his mouth to say something, but then closes it again. Doesn’t know whether to feel sad or annoyed but in the end he sighs and gives you a grin. “A joke like that deserves some sort of punishment, love. Let’s see... what would be a fitting one,”

He looks like he’s having fun all of a sudden.

Thoma

Definitely worried to the point of anxiousness.

Thoma is used to multi-tasking, he always has a few things in his mind that he needs to juggle but when you say something like that he might be the type to not be able to focus on anything until you finally have the conversation.

He’s stunned when he hears your whole statement and definitely turns sullen. He suddenly starts to think about your time together, from the first date all up until today, it’s been a long journey and he begins to imagine walking through life without you.

He gets goosebumps at the thought of it. “I...I don’t think I can...live that way,” he gulps and continues. “Excuse me if this is too heavy of a statement for you but...I’ve always thought of you as the one I’d spend my whole life with, just suddenly losing that isn’t...”

It’s like your life with him just flashes by in his eyes, remembering all the good times, the smiles, the laughs and just the limitless love he has for you. “...I can’t accept it just like that... He smiles but it’s rather downtrodden and painful. “It’ll always be you, Y/N,”

Cue you telling him it’s a joke “Ahaha...Well... April Fools!” 

He immediately slumps forward and buries his face in his hands and gives a deep sigh. You repeatedly apologize as he does this.

He straightens up after a moment and gives you his sternest look ever (it just looks like he’s scolding you but he’s not very menacing at all because he’s a little teary eyed.)

“Out of all the things you could joke about...” he sighs again but draws you in and smiles tenderly, instantly forgiving you. “Just a kiss from you, love, and I’ll forget about it,”

Venti

Hears the word “important” and thinks that this might be a conversation that needs dandelion wine.

“Okay!” Still has that playful lilt to his voice, but will take it as seriously as he can. 

He listens to what you have to say and he becomes quiet. His smile disappears and he moves his gaze away from you towards somewhere faraway. “...You know, Y/N... Mondstadt is the City of Freedom,” 

He’s unusually soft and quiet when speaking, a serious undertone to his voice. “I’ve seen...all of you. The good, the bad... I may be a God, but I’m the God of Freedom so asking you to stay is...not something I can do, even if I want to,”

Nods his head optimistically with a smile that looks genuine, “Besides, someone as special as you...the world deserves to see it. Keeping you by my side...they’re missing out on a lot, ehe,” 

He does sound sincere and doesn’t sound bitter about it at all but you can’t help but feel sad about it. You apologized and tell him it’s a joke for April Fools.

He’s surprised, but mostly because he nearly felt as if tears were upon him and it’d been a long time since he shed tears. 

But he emphasizes that he’s not joking and if there ever came a time that you’d really like to go, you’re free to do so. 

You remind him that you don’t want to and he finally gets his usual laugh back.

“Well for that, you owe me a lifetime’s supply of dandelion wine!” 

He’s looking forward to the “lifetime” part more than the “dandelion wine” part.

Xiao

This is someone who usually doesn’t open up to people, but he did for you and you’re coming around telling him you don’t want to be together anymore after he’s lowered down all his walls. Think about that. 

He gets angry and it’s obvious. His eyebrows are drawn together and there’s a scowl on his face. He feels utterly betrayed. Thousands of years he decided to shelter himself because he thought that associating with others would bring them no good, and the one time he accepts someone in, they go barreling right out just as easily as that.

“What emotion does it stir in you, when you make crass statements like that?” you can practically feel the disappointment radiating off of him.

“It didn’t mean a thing to you, the burden I shared... The sides of me that...I’ve forgotten was ever there,” he curls his fist tight “I should’ve known...”

Oh, man, you might have messed up playing that prank on him but you immediately drop it and tell him it’s an April Fools joke. 

He recognizes the event cause he’s heard people talking about it before but he definitely disappears and doesn’t show up in front of you for the rest of the day.

Knowing Xiao, you give him his space and eventually he seeks you out again but you’re terribly guilty once that happens and you apologize to him profusely.

He stays silent and hums a little, drawing you in for a one armed embrace muttering about the foolish pranks mortals play on each other. 

“...My karmic debt is incredibly heavy, Y/N... yet...the thought of losing you...seemed heavier than the karmic debt I’ve carried for years.”

Xingqiu

Just a simple curiosity. Wondering what might be so important. 

He’s at a loss of words when you finish, the book he’s holding slips from his grasp and he’s weirdly unable to form proper words.

He adores you, and suddenly getting told this is like a splash of water to his face. 

“Is it--Is there--” he pauses and clears his throat to get his composure back. “Is there something unsatisfactory? Perhaps...” he doesn’t even know what to say, he genuinely thought the two of you had enjoyed each other’s company up till today. “Perhaps I...have overlooked something? I’d be more than willing to discuss it,”

When you say it’s not that and you just think the relationship has run its course he’s back to being speechless.

“N...No? But...” there were no signs at all, he wanted to say and he was confident that he would’ve been able to spot it if there were any signs. “...I might not be the...most likeable person... but I assure you that with me, you’ll always come first,”

You tell him its a joke and he immediately relaxes, he kind of sensed that there was something weird about the suddenness of it anyway. It was too out of the blue.

However, he coughs into his hand to hide his embarrassment and asks you to make it up to him. You ask him how and he hands you the book he dropped. “Read this to me, will you, my sunshine?”

Zhongli

He puts great value in the things you say, so when you say it’s important he merely takes it as a sign to be more attentive. 

You finish and you cannot read any expression on his face whatsoever. However, he seems to have stopped drinking his tea and is in deep thought, looking away from you and over to the teapot, just keeping his gaze there.

“...Zhongli?” You softly call him back and his eyes fly towards you. 

“Mm,” he simply lets out, and closes his eyes. “Might I tell you how I feel about this, Y/N?”

You nod your head and let him speak.

“I...was under the impression that everything had been progressing well, between the two of us...” he touches the rim of his teacup but doesn’t put it up to his lips. “I apologize, if that hadn’t been the case on your side...and I apologize further that...you seem to be unhappy with the current state of things...”

He closes his eyes and continues, “...Truthfully, I would not like it to end this easily... Your importance to me is far higher than that of just a few words... Beloved, if you’re not opposed to it... allow me to work through this a little longer with you...” 

He opens his eyes again and there isn’t anything there but respect and gentleness. You can’t help but smile and apologize to him, telling him it’s a joke. 

He doesn’t breathe out any sigh of relief but on closer look, his shoulders relax and he goes back to lifting his tea cup to his lips and gets a big gulp out of it. “Ah, I see...I’ve forgotten the occasion today...” seems to brush it off but adds after a few seconds later “But if there is something amiss, do not make a habit of keeping it to yourself, darling,”
