I want Genesis to go mad scientist.

Genesis, who misses Angeal and Sephiroth so much that he's willing to "Play Hojo" to get them back.

First, he brings back Angeal. Angeal is deeply uncomfortable with it. He shouldn't be alive and he knows it. Maybe for fun, Angeal still remembers being dead.

Bringing Sephiroth back is harder. His mind was so fragile, and then so corrupted by JENOVA that they need to use his physical body to get rid of the...mess made of his soul.

In order to try and "fix" Sephiroth's mind he tries to rework his memories. According to Sephiroth's memories, he had been in a coma for like, eight years after an accident in Nibelheim (when Sephiroth learns Genesis was there, and there was a fire his immediate response is "What did you DO, Genesis?!"). He already knew his mother, Doctor Lucrezia Crescent, years before the incident, but no one knows what happened to her.

Angeal doesn't like lying to Sephiroth, but he admits that it's better than losing him to instability. (Sephiroth still gets flashes of things he doesn't remember. And probably eventually runs into Cloud while running errands or something)
