Axel: You never let me do anything fun! I bet if OWEN wanted to do this, you'd bend over backwards to help him. Just admit it, Owen's your favourite, isn't he?

Len: Of course he is. It's no contest.

Lisa: Lenny! You can't pick favourites with your kids!

Axel: Thank you!

Lisa: You're welcome, honey. Now what happened?

Len: I wouldn't let him mail anthrax powdered doughnuts to the Hall of Justice.

Lisa: When is Owen coming home?

A new day, a new DC rant:

It KILLS me that the DCU is considered the “dark” edgy universe. Really, the DCU? The universe with Superman? Awful. And of course, I blame everything 100% on Batman.

Batman, once my favorite superhero (because DC will hardly let you choose anyone else), has dictated the course of the DCU by sheer exposure and DC giving the fans what they want. Batman is a moody dark loner, might as well take everyone in that direction, right? Bats has such a heavy influence on the entire DCU that an entire crisis event and it’s sequel was spawned directly off him. Metal and Death Metal are entirely about Batman and his trauma, despite how they tried to use Diana to frame the narrative in the second series.

Superman literally stands for hope. Wonder Woman is a champion of perseverance and a literal women’s rights icon. Green Lantern shines light in the darkness. The Flash family is practically built on unbridled optimism.

But the Marvel universe is the happy one? Marvel, with Wolverine and his claws, Punisher and his guns, Venom, Ghost Rider, Moon Knight, etc. Marvel, with its civil rights struggles, it’s government oppression, the continual “how can we screw over Peter Parker for the drama”, that universe? How did this happen?

Batman. Batman happened.

TL;DR: Calling the DCU the dark universe makes me wish the blissful ignorance of the Golden/Silver Age was alive and well.

I like to think most of the rogues are some shade of supportive towards Hartley going “straight”, however they are NOT supportive of him shacking up with a cop lmao

David probably had a rough ride of sabotaged dates and bizarre shovel talks those first few months :P

If CW’s The Flash was more comic accurate

Axel: You aren’t my dad.

James: You’re damn right I am. And once we get out of this you’re gonna go back and finish school!
