Gary Thain was a severely under appreciated bassist. He played on some of Uriah Heep's most popular, best selling albums. He made Gerry Bron a crap ton of money but when Gary needed help, Bron threw him in the bin. Here's a frankly horrific first-hand account of Gary's electrocution on September 15, 1974. I took the screenshots from my Instagram but the full thing is online on 'The Day Blog'. I just didn't like that the poster continually commented on Gary's problems he was having at the time. We don't need that commentary on Gary's personal life while telling a story of an electrocution that had nothing to do with existing health issues. Although, Bron wanted to try to spin it as a breakdown and not a bad wiring setup. Someone didn't properly ground the wires to Gary's amp.

Bron wouldn't give Gary time to recover and forced him to continue touring one month later. The man was electrocuted and needed rehabilitation but no one helped him.

Gary was a gift to music and he was just thrown away when he needed help.

This eye-witness account was very hard for me to read and edit out the parts I thought were irrelevant. Gary's story has left an impact on my life forever and I'll never forget it. Sorry it's so graphic but it needs to be known.
