There's so many disastrous opportunities involving Nico's ability to go into someone's dream. I'm picturing shortly after HoO Nico travels to Will's dream one night to deliver a message that for whatever reason can't wait until morning

And Nico stops in surprise because Will is sitting there on a grassy hill, apparently in the middle of a picnic on a perfect day, overlooking Camp Half Blood. But he's with someone. Someone very familiar. Almost like they're on a date...

And Will looks over and sees him and is like, "Wow. Two Nico di Angelos? Ohhh, so it's gonna be one of those dreams, huh? Weird by now I'd be wearing less clothes-"

And Nico is like. "What? No! I'm not part of- of whatever this is... I'm here to deliver a message-" Nico couldn't even begin to process what Will just said for fear his head would implode in embarrassment.

"Wait. You're the real Nico?"

"Yeah, I can travel through dreams sometimes. Now-"

"Since when?? You've never told me that! Oh gods. Oh no. You have to leave."

"Fine. I'm just here to tell you-" And then the scene shifts.

And suddenly instead of a nice picnic they're standing in the woods, facing each other. Now wearing traditional greek robes, holding hands. All their friends are there, sitting in neat little rows, all dressed as if this were a wedding or something. Wait... The decorations... the tree arch... these were wedding robes. It was a wedding.

"Do you, William Andrew Solace, take Nico di Angelo to be your lawfully wedded husband?" Asks Chiron, wearing a tuxedo from the waist up.

"Uhhh," Will glances at Nico awkwardly.

And Nico is again frozen in shock. And definitely blushing. And his heart is pounding so hard he thinks he's going to wake up any second. He yanks his hands away from Will.

"Kayla needs you in the infirmary." He blurts out.

"You couldn't wake me up to tell me this??" Will hisses, face red as a tomato.

"There was an accident and I shadow travelled away with Kayla and Harley and I kind of passed out- This was the fastest way-"

"Fine. Can you wake me up from here? Slap me awake or whatever?"

"Uh, maybe." Nico looked around. Usually dreams weren't so... detailed. "The easiest way is to shock you out of the dream. Catch you by surprise."

"Okay, uh, summon a monster!"

"Well, now you'll be expecting that." Nico rolled his eyes. Will scowled in response.

"Do something! If Kayla's in trouble-"

So, Nico kisses him. Partially because he knew it'd shock Will. Partially to shut him up. Partially because he just really wanted to kiss Will Solace and he had the perfect excuse to do it and he had to go for it before he lost his nerve-

It worked. Will's face was frozen in the most adorable surprised expression and the dream dissipated.

Will awoke in his bunk with a gasp and rushed to the infirmary, not even bothering to put on his sandles.

"He kissed me he kissed me he kissed me- oh gods he saw my vision of us getting married. Oh gods I told him I dream about him not wearing clothes. But he kissed me he kissed me he actually kissed-"

Running high on adrenaline he was relieved to see Kayla and Harley were mostly fine. Kayla had twisted her ankle pretty badly, though. Nico was still passed out.

"How did you know we were in here?" Kayla eventually asked.

"Nico told me. He, uh, can visit dreams." Will said as he convinced Harley to drink a little more nectar. Poor kid was only nine years old, too exhausted to talk. He would no doubt fall asleep any second.

"Wait. But lately all your dreams have been..."

"Snippets of the future? About him? I know, Kayla."

"You're blushing so hard right now. Ohmygods wait. Did he walk in during one of those dreams?"

"No! He... it was the wedding one."

"So now he knows you two get married in the future, huh?"

"As far as he knows it was just a dream, not a vision, got it?"

"Got it."

"Kayla, I'm serious-"

"Fine! Sheesh. I swear on the Styx I won't tell Nico it was anything more than a dream." Kayla crossed her arms. "Good luck convincing him to keep his mouth shut, though."

Harley smiled, already half asleep. "Will and Nico sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I... n.....g....." He started snoring softly.

Will tapped his chin thoughtfully. "You know if I give him a sedative he probably won't remember this conversation-"

"William Andrew Solace, don't you dare-"

Nico visits May Castellan whenever he can

As the same way Nico visits Bob in Underworld, he visits May Castellan in her house.

She keeps making burned cookies even months after the death of her son, she's still waiting for him to come back.

The same profecy took away Nico's mother, the same profecy took away May's son. She went crazy because his father cursed the oracle after his mother's death.

It is not surprising that Nico once felt guilty for her madness just as he felt guilty about his mother's death, or his sister death, or any toxic thoughts he had of himself.

He's okay with their deaths, he overcame any guilt he once felt, his mother died, Bianca too, there's nothing he can do about it. But May is still alive, there's something he can do.

Nico visits May Castellan whenever he can.

At the first time, a few weeks after Luke's death, her house was worse than when he visited her with Percy, more cookies, more sandwiches and more juice. She she was terribly thinner, the opaque eyes were tired with dark circles worse than his (he did not believe this would be possible), her hair it looked like one of Mrs. O'Leary's destroyed toys.

She definitely felt her son’s death.

Or at least, she felt something terrible happened with Luke, because when she opened the door, she hugged the boy with that same scary smile.

"Luke!" She said.

Nico thought everything was the same, he expected that same speech that she knew he would be back for lunch but she started crying.

"Oh my little boy, I knew you would make the right choice," she was right, Luke stopped Chronos in his last moments, this little good thing sent him to Elysium, "I knew it wasn't your fate..."

Nico tensed, waiting for that green sparkle in her eyes again, but she continued. "I knew you would come back my son" she smiled, in a more natural way, "your father came visit me some weeks ago, he told me you were in a better place, he told me to not worry about your fate anymore."

"The last time I came here," Nico started, "you said something... about not being able to get some images off your head..." The woman kept that unfocused look into him, "did you get them off?"

Ms. Castellan toutched his cheek. "Those images didn't come since you took the right choice." His father's curse was over then, but why she keeps waiting for Luke?

The next times wasn't diferent, she kept calling him Luke and burning cookies, but her cookies was becoming less and less carbonized.

Nico could see how genuinely happy she was to see her "son" visiting her and eating "his" favorite food, even those cookies (it wasn't the worse thing he once has eaten after shadowtravells).

She wasn't terribly thin anymore, her hair wasn't messy, and her smile wasn't weird anymore.

She was healling.

Nico noticed the weird stuff in her house getting cleaner. She stopped making sandwiches every day, only when he come to vist her. The house now have a regular number of mirrors, all the wind chimes were kept, according to her, in the attic, the stuffed beanbag had to be trown in trash. And even the little Medusa in sink wasn't there anymore.

Everytime he visits her, they talk about his demigod adventures... To were he travelled, the monsters he fought, his little sister, Hazel... And Percy Jackson. Not his feelings about him, nobody will ever know about it, but how this guy went missing and how worried Nico was about him.

Now her eyes are completely normal, it's just a matter of time until she realizes Nico isn't her son.

After the Second Gigant War, Nico didn't visited her anymore, first for his fear to shadowtravell again, then for fearing she will finally know he isn't Luke.

Until the day Hermes showed up in Hades cabin.

Nico woke up with someone knocking the door, at first he tought it was Will, his... Nico doesn't like the word "boyfriend", Will is his "best friend with a non platonic romantic atraction". It doesn't matter, because it wasn't Will at the door.

"Why didn't you visit your mom anymore? She's worried about you" the man said.

"Urn, hi?" Nico was still groggy with sleep, that didn't make any sense to him.

"Hi, Nico" the boy noticed his blue eyes, the same blue eyes as Luke, or the Stoll brothers, or anyone in Hermes cabin have.

"Hermes" Nico rubbed his face to ward off sleep, "need something?"

"May misses you," he said, "I went visit her yesterday, she's doing great, by the way. Come on, I'll give you a ride." In one of his pockets, his phone started to ring and the man rolled his eyes, "I don't have much time, lets go."

Nico barely put his shoes on and Hermes was taking him to Ms. Castellans house. It was like shadowtravell with Mrs. O'Leary, nauseatingly fast, but without the darkness.

Hermes left him at her door and said "don't worry, I will take you back to Camp" and then disapeared.

Nico looked at the house before knocking. The sidewalk was normal, just like the front porch. "Good" he thought.

Ms. Castellan was barely unrecognizable, her white hair was long and neat in a braid, she was wearing a clean dress.

When she looked at Nico, she didn't hugged him, nor she acted desperately relieved as she used to, she just said, "Hello my son"

She knew he isn't Luke, Nico could see it in her eyes, but she still call him son.

"Hello mom" he aswered.

some Lost Hero Trio sketches !!!!

Children of Hades

i’ve been meaning to do some character design for the godly children of hades, and i had a some thoughts floating around in my head around them so here it is!

Macaria: Goddess of blessed death and the eldest daughter of Hades. I picture her as being tall and willowy with pale skin, long white hair and pointed ears. There’s no historical text to support this claim, but i head canon her as the daughter of leuke, an oceanid that was taken by hades and whose body was transformed into a poplar tree when she died. The sources only mention Hades and not a mother

Melinoe: Goddess of ghosts and nightmares and daughter of Persephone. like in most representations of her i split her hair color right down the middle, but instead of doing that with her skin, she has vitiligo. Unlike her gentle sister, she’s rather moody with a bit of an attitude.

Zagreus: God of hunting and rebirth and son of Persephone. In the Orphic myths, he was a son of Zeus who was torn apart by titans and reborn as Dionysus, but here he is alive and well and thriving as child of the underworld. He’s close friends with Dionysus and often gets mistaken for him. 

I’ve actually draw this version of Zagreus a lot and i have @happyk44 to thank for his design! here’s an inked sketch of him below and link to my paintings of him.
