I Couldnt Resist Drawing My Favorite Sketch Of Ernest H. Shepards Illustrations From A. A. Milnes Second

I couldnāt resist drawing my favorite sketch of Ernest H. Shepardās illustrations from A. A. Milneās second Winnie-the-Pooh book, The House at Pooh Corner. When I was looking at Shepardās drawings online I found that he also did the illustrations for The Wind the Willows, which was (and still is) one of my favorite books since early middle school. I wish that childrenās books today had this level of quality in their illustrations. You would think with the advent of technology that we could produce high quality illustrations like this in an even shorter amount of time, but I keep seeing these really cheap looking books that saddens me to no end.

Itās more Regency era, but close enough I guess. Found this list on Pinterest, and figured it would be good practice for being able to replicate Christopher in many ways. And itās just fun too! š

Decided to try my hand at some landscaping. This is more or less my backyard, with some moments of artistic license ;). All done with a mechanical pencil, an eraser, and my fingers (I didn't have a Kleenex on me so I had to use my hand for smudging)
THE REPEAL OF NET NEUTRALITY IS A VIOLATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS.
The FCC refuses to listen to anything we have to say about Net Neutrality. unless it involves serious legal issues. So today, Iām going to give us one, so we can all beat them at their own game.
In 2003, the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) convened and specifically established the following: āWe reaffirm, as an essential foundation of the Information Society, and as outlined in Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, that everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; that this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers [ā¦] Everyone, everywhere should have the opportunity to participate and no one should be excluded from the benefits the Information Society offers.āĀ [2]
If Net Neutrality is repealed, ISPs will be able to interfere with who, specifically, has access to particular parts of and possibly even the whole Internet. This is a contradiction to the official reaffirmation above and thus it is a direct violation of our HUMAN RIGHTS.
Spread the word NOW. Contact your reps (which I have already done) and hell, the FCC too, and let them know that OUR HUMAN RIGHTS WILL NOT BE VIOLATED.
The word about this NEEDS to get out to everyone, RIGHT NOW. Do not hesitate to reblog this.Ā

Repost of all of the sketches I couldn't help but doing during classes

Wanted to try something a little different in terms of style, and I'm really happy with how these two came out.
This is Finneley Hannigan and Ophelia Melbury. Finneley is the quiet and very shy gardener at a huge country estate and Ophelia is a polite and very imaginative daughter of one of several aristocratic families who frequently stay at the estate most the year.
Finneley comes from a magical family and is the youngest of 7 children and lives in a house just inside the woods on the estate grounds. His mother, Mabel, and Finneley have the same kind of magic, which is the growing and nurturing of plants and animals. Mabel's magic is best used through singing and dancing, but as she was getting older when Finneley's magic finally revealed itself (he was quite a few years older than his siblings when they discovered their magic), she began to forget how to use her magic. Except for her singing, which she taught Finneley.
After I came up with Finneley's story I realized that I basically made a male version of a Disney princess and I absolutely love it.
I hope to actually make some comics with these characters and this story this time ...
