You were stupid.
As much as you wanted to gaslight yourself into the thinking that the few days of silence is just what you need to clear your mind and have some space after all of the hectic chaos going around, it wasnât as peaceful as you hoped. The silence started to turn more uncomfortable, becoming deafening and depressing quickly.
So on the third day, when the ringing of the doorbell broke the silence, somewhere inside the self pity you had been drowning in the last couple of days was grateful.
Itâs short lived.
Being the baby mama of a famous Kpop idol billionaire, you knew it was only a matter of time before someone came knocking and looking for you sooner or later. That part you guessed. What was making you nervous was the fact that you didnât know who was going to come.
Was it a crazy fan who somehow managed to find out where you stayed (which was still in Yoongiâs house, ironically)? Was it a member of BTS themselves? Or worst of all, was it Yoongi.
The thought made you so nervous and sick to your stomach. Out of all the awkward interactions you were avoiding the one with Yoongi the most, though that wasnât hard to do recently. You had kicked him out and broke your only form of communication aka your phone.
Thereâs a knock on the door a couple seconds later, not a doorbell, a knock. Then another, and another. There is a sense of urgency to the knocks, like whoever is at the door is afraid to wait any longer before trying to speak to you.
You finally get up from the bed, your legs shaking a little bit from standing. You move slowly towards the door, trying to calm your nerves.
It is too silent outside the door, and you have no idea about the identity of the person standing outside. It can be anyone, and in a way, it's scary but you have half a brain to look through the peephole to prepare yourself for whoever it is.
Your eyes widen and your face pales when you see a familiar face, one you hadnât really thought about. Harin.
She doesnât look her best which was unlike her. Usually sheâd have on at least a bit of makeup and dress nicely, no matter where she was or where she was going. She was classy, and always had on a caring, bright smile. No matter how much struggle it was being in the spotlight because of Jin or being away from Jin because of his job, she was strong. She was everything you wanted to be, you in an alternate universe where you had met Yoongi under the right circumstances.
But looking at her now, on your doorstep with very noticeable eyebags and a dying look of worry, some guilt hits you, and all you want to do is throw the door open and cry into her arms. You had always kept people and friends at a distance, it felt so different to want to seek out someoneâs comfort. Maybe this is what it was like to trust and care heavily about people, you didnât know. Everything nowadays was new to you.
You slowly open the door with a shaky hand, your heart skipping a beat when her head snaps over to the sound of it finally opening.
âHarin..â her name slips from your mouth in a shaky breathless voice. Harin nods, her entire face filled with compassion and worry. One look at you and she can see that you haven't been doing well at all and you can only imagine the amount of pity sheâs feeling.
She looks at you for a moment before speaking softly. "I heard about everything that's been going on, please... let me come inside." Her voice is calm and reassuring, as if trying to be as gentle as possible with you. She was treating you as a time bomb, and as much as you wanted that to anger you, it was impossible to be mad at her.
You open your mouth but nothing comes out, you want to tell her itâs not a good time or something. You want to turn her away, like you do with everyone else in your life, like you did with Yoongi. You want to go back to drowning in your sorrows and depression until eventually you become a rock.
But she looks so emotional, so hurt. And suddenly you donât have the balls to push her away. For the first time ever, you let someone in. You let someone help you instead of pushing them out.
âOkay.â You say weakly, barely being able to direct your voice to her. You open the door more and move to the side so she can come inside.
Harin nods, her eyes widening as she steps inside before closing the door behind her quietly. She doesn't say anything more, going directly towards you. Without warning, she enfolds you in a warm and gentle hug.
"Oh, Y/N, I'm so sorry for everything," she whispers passionately, rubbing the top of your back. "I-I'm just so sorry." Her voice is small but filled with emotion.
The sudden hug catches you off guard, and to your own surprise you melt immediately into the warm comforting embrace.
âSorry? What are you sorry for?â You ask, fighting back a smile as you hug her back tightly.
Harin lets out a sigh. "So, So many things," she whispers. "I'm sorry you're going through this right now, I'm sorry I haven't been there for you enough. I-"
She can't continue, her words choking her up but you are quick to shake your head dismissively anyways. âStop. If anything I should be sorry. I took the spotlight off of you and Jinâs special accomplishment. I messed up your proposal and Iâll probably just mess up your wedding too so you shouldnât even invite-â
âStop,â sheâs the one to say it this time, frowning and shaking her head. âYouâre absolutely going to be at my wedding. Youâre my best friend.â She says passionately, pulling away from the hug to look you in your eyes. âI'm not letting you go through this alone, no matter how hard things get..."
âThank you, Harin.â You respond in a whisper, your heart fluttering as you pull her back into the hug tightly. Seconds after thereâs a small stab of pain in your stomach, causing me to groan and close your eyes and lean onto her for support.
Harin flinches as she feels your sudden
movement towards her, then notices your hand grab onto your stomach. Her heart sinks when she realizes what it means, her eyes flaring with shock and concern.
"Your stomach... does it hurt?" she asks softly, her voice filled with worry for you. âAre you okay?â
âYeah..â you take a step back to ground yourself. âJust been stressed lately.â You mumble, trying but failing to reassure her.
"I know the feeling..." Harin whispers, still looking at your abdomen. âCome sit.â She says, holding your hand and ushering you to sit down.
âThanks..â you mumble, slowly sitting onto the couch as Harin watches you closely as she helps you settle. "You sure everything with the baby is okay?" she whispers softly, her eyes filled with concern and worry.
âI think.â âI hope.â
âI donât want to go outside, let alone a hospital.â You say with a sigh, looking up at Harin who gives you a sympathetic expression. She nods in understanding, âI know how you feel," she says quietly. "The outside can be so scary at times... especially when there are so many people watching your every move."
You let out a small smile and nod, of course Harin understood. You couldnât imagine all she had been through when she first started dating Seokjin. It was a relief to have at least one person who knew what you were going through. Her and someone else.
â..Howâs Yoongi?â The words fly out of your mouth before you can stop them. Youâd be lying if you said you werenât at least a tiny bit concerned curious about how he was doing. But you knew a part of you were asking from a place of guilt, some part of you knew you had overreacted the slightest bit. Because it was like you, to push people away when things got too serious.
Harinâs eyes widen in surprise, almost as if she was surprised you even brought him up. She blinks a few times before speaking. "I talked to him earlier today," she whispers softly.
She opens her mouth again, lashing hesitantly before actually saying anything. She looks at you for a few moments, debating on whether or not she should continue. She looks thoughtful for a moment - then lets out an exhausted sigh.
"He's been really worried about you," she states honestly, letting out a short breath. "He was really hurting when you kicked him out... honestly, he's not doing too well right now."
âReally?â You donât want to admit that the news is sickening, because you still cared about him, despite everything. Harin nods, âJin says itâs worse than when they first debuted. Overworking himself, not eating, not speaking.â
Your elbows go to your knees as you bury your face in your hands. To say you felt awful was an understatement. âI donât know what to do, Harin. I just..I felt hurt. He kept something so big from me no matter what the reason.â You shake your head, swallowing nervously.
âWhat would you have done?â
She winced, thinking about if she was in your shoes. "I... I would have heard him out, before I made my decision," she says softly and you sigh, knowing she was probably right. "I understand that you felt betrayed," she admits. "But it wasn't intentional, he just didn't know how to talk to you..."
She looks at the ground, her voice softening even more. "He didn't know how to handle this... honestly, neither one of you do. But there's still a chance you can work things out if you talk to each other."
You swallow, tears welling up in your eyes as a bunch of emotions cloud your mind. âI donât know how to do that Harin. How to communicate.â
Her face immediately softened, pulling you into another hug. âGive it as much time as you need for yourself," she continues. "Just don't shut him out... he wants to be there for you... just like I do."
Harin looks at you for a moment then smiles. "You're not alone now, okay?"
Your eyes go to the phone in pieces next to the wall at her words as your mind wanders to similar words.
iâm here now
The first stupid text that started everything. The text that you stupidly didnât listen to. The stupid text that showed how horrible you were for not communicating when he was.
You were stupid.
Well⌠at least we donât have to worry about that damn phoneâŚ

You glance up at the small dirty clock on the top of the wall for what felt like the tenth time within the past half an hour. You read it and let out a sigh, your leg bouncing anxiously as you glanced at the door.
Yoongi got off at eight and could usually make it back in twenty or so minutes. But it was eight thirty and there was still no sign of him.
Itâs dark and thereâs light rain hitting the windows of the motel, a perfect night for patrollers or some pedestrian to catch sight of him or his *abilities* and report him.
The thought causes a shiver down go down your spine. With no phone to communicate with him by, if something happened to him itâd be hours before youâd even realize or have the courage to go out looking for him.
You looked down at your plate, half empty and cold before sighing and leaning back against the couch. You closed your eyes, trying not to focus on the time in order to not have a panic attack or a full on breakdown. It was weird how dependent you became to Yoongi, in every sense of the word.
He stood up for you when you couldnât do it yourself, he helped you survive when you were almost dead. He took you under his wing and took care of you, showing you tricks on how to get through the cruel world. And then after a while, he cared and protected you. Showed you love and other things you hadnât felt in a long time.
You remembered the first time he smiled at you when you went to hop trains or showed off how the could twirl a stick that had fire at the ends without dropping it (even though at first he was hesitant to use fire at all around you). You smile at the memories, relaxing slightly only to be jolted back to life when the door to your motel room flings open.
Startled, your eyes shoot open and to the door, trembling at the loud sudden sound of the door swinging open and hitting the wall when it collided. You stood up for the couch, ready to fight or flee when your eyes meet the one who dramatically entered.
âYoongi.. you almost broke the door. And youâre super late.â I said through my breath of relief, muscles relaxing when I see his familiar figure and face before he closes the door.
âNot now, Y/N. Iâm not in the mood.â He mumbled, his hands working to take off his soaked black hoodie as he tosses it lazily onto the couch.
You were silenced, watching as he walked to the bedroom. An upgrade from the last motel since there were no real rooms and it was all one tight space. You leaned next to the doorframe, watching as he took off his shoes and white t-shirt, revealing his huff chest underneath.
âRough day in the kitchen?â You asked as you watched him gather his things for a quick shower, like always.
âYup. And the rain didnât help.â He mumbled, tilting his head slightly as he thought about it. âOh right.. you okay?â You asked, slightly concerned.
âFine, just makes my skin all hot and my body heavy. Hard to control my fuckin âabilityâ too.â He rambled half heartedly as he rumbled through his things. Most days it was like he never stopped moving. He was anxious, irritated but you knew it was just because he was worried.
He was never used to staying in one place so being in the motel for so long was making him antsy. His mind was always on go, like it had always been.
âDid you need something?â Yoongiâs slightly annoyed voice came through to you, blinking at him as you noticed his slightly confused and irritated glance.
âI.. Thereâs food in the microwave.â You muttered as he got his towel and walked past you. âDo not need to be around anymore food, Y/N.â He mumbled as he passed me and into the bathroom, silent as the door closed.
You sighed, leaning your head against a nearby wall as you listened to the shower run, feeling exhausted yourself. As ironic as it sounded, he could be cold sometimes.
You made your way into the bedroom, lying down and covering yourself in the sheets as you tried to keep the bad thoughts out of your mind. Thoughts about not running anymore and accepting the fate you were bound to have. Alone or in some lab for studying. Thoughts of having to live your whole life in some motel, rotting away as fear swallowed you hole.
No matter what Yoongi believed, a part of you hoped and wished that there was something more. That something would change for the gifted people. Or that things would go back to a more carefree time where you jumped trains with Yoongi or slept at his parentâs house and played with his dog.
With a burst of determination and sadness, you hopped out of bed. With one swift movement your shoes were on and you were going to the couch and getting his hoodie. You stopped, listening as the water still ran in the shower before making your escape out the door.
It had been a while since you were outside. The rain wasnât so bad, you liked the feel of the water in your hair and on your face. You walked past the other rooms of the motel and onto the sidewalk.
It was dark, not much traffic and not others walking. You hummed to yourself, a peaceful song you heard while watching an anime once. Not allowing your mine to eat you alive with memories about your childhood like it had gone with Yoongi.
You simply, walked.
You walked and walked until your legs finally got tired, and you could hear crickets in the grass and fighting in the alleyways. You hadnât noticed the rain stopped, making you glance up at the sky. You looked up at the stars, making a small wish, no matter if the star wasnât moving. Just like you in the motel, the star stood in place. Shining brightly throughout the dark night sky. It gave you hope.
You looked at the clock as you entered the motel, a little bit past ten oâclock. You glanced at the couch, Yoongi not being there like you had been waiting for him earlier. You didnât know what changed. What happened for the relationship to be like this.. Dry and cold like it had been outside. But.. the star still shined.
You quietly took off your shoes by the door and hung up the jacket before slowly and quietly making your way to the bedroom. A dim lamp was on but Yoongi was fast asleep, small breaths being heard as you saw him cozied up in the bed. You couldnât help but smile softly. You never stayed awake to see him sleep, and for the first time in a while, he didnât seem as tense or stressed. Like he was free in his sleep.
You climbed into the bed next to him, he was on his side, his back turned to you and you decided the let him have his peace and faced away from him also. The walk made you realize you needed your peace to. Away from him and everything else. It helped you fall into your own peaceful sleep.
đŻď¸đŻď¸đŻď¸đŻď¸
You woke up to the feeling of being warm. Very, warm. Arms were around your waist and a you could feel a body pressed up against yours. As you accepted that fact, a small smile wiggles onto your face. You could feel his hair against yours as his breath hit your neck. As much as you loved the cuddles, you took a minute before wiggling out of his grasp and out of the bed. His arms loosening around you as you managed to make it out of the bed without waking him up.
He stirred slightly when you winced, clenching your side as it started to sting. You knew why, and took a breath as you shakily went to the bathroom.
You opened the cabinet and ruffled through all the other products before your eyes landed on something and you tightly grasped it with one hand. Burn cream.
You lifted up your shirt slightly and looked at your side. The shirt itself was fire resistant to an extent, but the heat from the oven in your bed had managed to make the shirt hot enough that it still burned your skin and the wetness from the rain made it worse.
You sighed, taking off your shirt with another wince as you opened the cream and started to dab it on the bruised skin. It wasnât the first time this had happened, sometimes it would be in the same spots. It was just something that happened since you started sleeping with him, which was ages ago.
âDid I do that?â
A raspy deep voice called out, startling you slightly just as you were digging out the last of the cream in the bottle you almost dropped.
You looked outside the bathroom door (which you stupidly forgotten to close) and see Yoongi standing outside, hair ruffled from sleep and his eyes squinted as he pointed to your bruise.
âI.. It happens sometimes.â You muttered, not wanting him to feel bad. Thatâs why you had never told him. He was always taking care of you and when he slept, he could finally relax. You didnât want him to be worried about you even while he slept.
âReally? Cause that bottle is damned near empty.â He pointed out, looking disappointed that you had even tried to lie. He took a step closer, looking down at the burn again before up at you. His face fell slightly as the two of you met eyes. âI do this to you?â His voice cracked slightly.
âYou do everything for me.â You replied, putting down the bottle down and wrapping your arms around his neck as you got closer to him. âThis is nothing-â
âThis is bruises. I saw the bottle, Iâve been hurting you. For a long time..â he said, slightly shaking his head, his tone slightly despair as he thought about it.
âYoongs, I love your fire, it makes you who you are. I love you and everything you do for me.â You said sternly but softly, trying to let him know just how serious you were about him. âIâm not giving up on you or anything.â You said with a breath.
âBaby..â he said, slightly stunned but still concerned. âYou once told me that love is fire. That itâll either go through you and warm your heart or burn your house down.â You said and his eyes widened slightly with shock, swallowing as he tired to hold down his emotions.
âI know, youâve burnt bridges.. and burned down houses.â You thought back to the story Yoongi told you, way before you met. How he had tired to use his fire to set his house on fire. How he had given up.
âBut as cringy as this sounds, your fire warms my heart.â I concluded, his shoulder slumping as he leaned his head against mine, his breathing heavy. âIâm not giving up on you, Yoongs.â You replied, remembering him that things were different now. âor anything.â
The star. The star had given you hope. And when you felt Yoongiâs lips against yours in a soft kiss. You smiled, knowing you had given him hope to. Despite all the constant swings from cold and fire. You werenât burned alive. Yoongi was still saving you, and you were still having him.
