a lot of the “anti-anti” rhetoric i see is “survivors are allowed to cope with their trauma by writing violent fanfiction if they so choose” and what’s funny about that rhetoric, besides how it’s not empirically supported at all, is that these people are weaponizing survivors against survivors and simultaneously acting as if survivors are above criticism and can do no wrong. survivors can harm other survivors. people who have been abused can themselves be abusive. if you’re an adult and you’re getting off to child p*rn, you’re a p*dophile, and that doesn’t change if you’re a survivor. same thing with inc*st or r*pe. the thing is, though, that 99.9% of the people who get off to sexual violence are NOT themselves survivors, lol, so this rhetoric falls flat on all counts.
