favorite character? — gosh, since i have to pick just one, i’d say horatio.

favorite line of dialogue between two characters? — “there’s never a villain dwelling in all Denmark, but he’s an arrant knave.” “there needs to ghost, my lord, come from the grave to tell us this.” - hamlet and horatio i giggle every time i read this

what are two to five versions you’d particularly recommend? — i’m basic, so of course i fully recommend the film from 1948, starring laurence olivier. i also recommend the bob jones university production, starring david schwingle! olivier’s version is an absolute classic, and for good reason, but david is phenomenal, and i love the way they reframe certain lines and dialogues.

favorite fanfiction or just a fanfiction you would recommend? — WHERE ARE YOU PEOPLE FINDING HAMLET FANFICTION ☠️

pick a headcannon, any headcannon, and share it. — ophelia did NOT take her life. i honestly just think she was one hundred percent out of sorts and fell in, and got all tangled up. she deserved her christian burial.

favorite character who isn’t a main character? — OSRIC. osric. osric all the way. i love his silly hat.

one song that reminds you of the play, and why? — ok, for some reason, it’s “the winner takes it all” by abba. the line “i don’t wanna talk, if it makes you feel sad. and i understand, you’ve come to shake my hand.” reminds me of hamlet and laertes making amends in act five.

when did you first discover the play and what made you fall in love with it? — literally october of this year, english teacher tells us we’re gonna read it, and i have absolutely loved delving into it! i love how the play leads you to love hamlet, and then to hate him, and to see him fight so hard only for it to be mostly meaningless. it’s such a hard hitting peace of literature.

if you were going to play one character in the play, who would you pick? — ooh, this is a tough one. i would probably like to play laertes, because his emotions are so raw and real. dream role for sure!
