A/N: thanks to @jurassicjimin for being a sweetie and helping me edit ily :(( this fic was getting long so i decided to split it in a couple of parts but it will most likely be 3 chapters max. i hope everyone likes this as i kind of had to rewrite the whole thing and it may not be as eloquent as the one i spent longer time on hjerfvuekhbfkejbf anyway feedback is always appreciated :) <33 Also this is fiction and i have no idea how real surrogacy works. This is only for fictional purposes.

“Miss Y/N?”

“Huh? Yes?” The receptionist smiled gently at your vacant expression as you were sure you probably looked like you were lost instead of the planning you had been doing for weeks to prepare yourself for this very day.

“We’re ready for you now.” You stood up, smoothing your skirt as much as you could with the thin fabric stubbornly creased just below your hips from sitting down. You had told yourself that you would pay more attention to your posture and the nervous squirming you usually did when… well; when you were nervous as hell. But of course, your own advice was the one you mostly adhered to the least.

“Right this way,” The nice middle aged lady led you towards large wooden double doors. The place was modern, sleek, rustic and most of all – screamed money, all at once. You weren’t sure how many architectural structures could be squashed in to one at the same time and look good as well. But you guessed that money always looked good.

No wonder youdidn’t.

She smiled her gentle smile at you as she opened one of the doors and letting you enter first. You mumble a thanks before glancing towards the back of two heads you could see from where you stood. One blonde, the other black. They sat on a large three-seater sofa while a love couch – which made you snort internally given the circumstances – was placed across from them. Just then, Solhyun – the consultant looking after your case – glanced up from her seat.

“Ah! Y/N come on in, yeah,” She nodded encouragingly as you took small, quiet steps – thanks to your flats – towards the couch that you assumed was going to be where you sat, facing the other two men. Speaking of; they had also stood up with Solhyun as she waited for you to come forward.

“Hello,” You went for a handshake but Solhyun pulled you into a gentle hug.

“How are you?” She asks as her greeting with a bright smile on her face, not waiting for you to respond before she is introducing the most important people – and the ones you’d been nervous as hell to meet.

“Have you heard this song that Soyeon’s produced for her music production class? Oh my god, I’m dying it’s so damn good. What the actual fuck,” You whine to your boyfriend, rolling halfway onto his body as you flail with too much energy. “Maybe you should ask if she wants to collaborate on a song or something for your final project.”

Hoseok hums lightly to himself, looking down at his phone as he scrolls through aimless pages on some subreddit he’s got obsessed with lately. He’s looking particularly fine tonight, with his white shirt clinging to him delightfully as it twists on his slim figure, and you blame that for your sudden rise in hormones.

There’s been a lack of intimate contact over the last week due to busy commitments on both your sides. One of the down sides to you both working a part-time job to fund the little apartment you’d moved into for your last year of college was that it meant you actually had to work around your class schedule.

Which meant that Hoseok was often working when you were free and you were working when he was. Today however, was a rare night off for you both and you’d begged him to stay in and just spend quality time with each other instead of going to the giant rager his fraternity brothers were throwing.

They’d given him only a mild amount of teasing when he’d decided to leave the frat house to move in with you after three years of dating, and you knew that they all loved you. Well, they loved your cooking at least and there was that old saying about the way to a man’s heart…

Maybe getting pregnant on the first try wasn’t so rare after all. It probably was but the universe had different plans for you as you sat there on the bed, a loud ringing in your ear blocking out Jimin’s joyful laughs as he hugged Taehyung tight. Dr. Klarna stood to the side with a smile on her face, watching the happy couple celebrate that the dream of them having a child of their own was slowly turning in to a reality. All the while you were trying to come to terms with the fact that you were really, actually pregnant. When the ringing in your ear finally dulls to let you hear what others were saying in the room, you hear Jimin telling Taehyung to cheer up. That they were finally going to be a family.

The first time you noticed a change with Jungkook was towards the end of summer before classes started again. It was late evening. When you moved closer to him he stiffened, and though you had barely brushed against him a loud groan escaped his lips before he collapsed from the couch on to the ground. He keeled over grasping at his wrist, his breathing erratic.

Jimin had thought that moving back into the city would be turning out a little different. A little quieter maybe. Not this turbulent or chaotic. Transferring from one office to another wasn’t the hard part and he had made a new friend here easily. Even finding a little apartment didn’t turn out to be too much of a hassle. His new colleagues were nice to him and had accepted him quite fast. All in all, Jimin could say he had settled in pretty fast, only one thing bothered him right now and the reason was his boss. The one, who was staring right back at him in this very moment - completely naked. Jimin shivered, shaking himself out of his stupor, as he saw the curtains moving in the cold breeze that crept through the open window. Hadn’t he closed it before? His eyes flickered back to his boss once more, his mouth agape and Jimin slowly raised a hand as he was trying to think of the right words to say.
