Gale Looks Up To The Building They're Currently In Front Of "Second Floor From The Top, Straight Above

Gale looks up to the building they're currently in front of "Second floor from the top, straight above us. I'm gonna grab some overnight things and a couple changes of clothes. Won't be more than a duffel bag's worth. What I need from you is well, getting us up there if you can. Otherwise it's going to be a long climb up the stairs."

"I'm good, thanks." She comes back out with a duffel bag slung under an arm. "And yeah, this is a mostly flyer neighborhood. Capitalizing on the thermals and all."

She readjusts the bag and looks to him "Well we can either try to glide down or take the stairs. I think I'd rather go stairs myself."

For several minutes she spirals upward, gaining as much altitude from the thermal as possible. Soon enough however, the air begins to cool and lose it's lifting capability. With the, she gives a short call to Rider and begins pumping her wings, continuing to gain altitude in the thinning atmosphere.

She breathes deeply in time with her wingbeats. Each flap slightly harder than the last. The only sound in her ears the beat of her wings against the sky and the puffing of her lungs. Soon even that sound begins to fade and the endless blue above her slides that much closer to blackness.

With the puffs of fog from her breathing around her, she reaches her limit and pauses. Above her she sees the twinkle of the brightest stars, below the world stretches to the curved horizon. She makes a half turn to angle her head downward, and leaves her wings half-open to stabilize her descent.

At that he smiles. "Glad to hear it, they've yet to let me down." he states, eating some of his meal. "I think it's cause they have such an interesting mix working in the kitchen." he explains.

she raises a brow "Oh yeah? Who do they have?" and proceeds to take another bite

She can feel his wing muscles straining. Despite his command, she reopens her wings to help take some of the strain of slowing their combined weight. Her own muscles scream at her as the wind rushes past. Thankfully, mercifully, they return to a more reasonable velocity.

She risks a glance downward and calls to him "We're over a park, think we can land?" She dearly hopes so, she's aching all over from this exercise today.

As the air rushes past, enough gets into her system for her to regain her senses. She pulls her legs in proper and flares her wings as much as she can, but her current speed means she can only open them so much without wrenching the sockets. It's enough to shallow her angle and slow herself a bit, but at this rate she's still gonna pancake.

Her eyes go everywhere they can while keeping her head straight, trying to spot Rider and hoping he's coming to help her.
