When I saw the film for the first time I was blown away, everything fit and then all the exteriors, wow. The city of New York in a desolate state, the crime, the cops, the streets, every second was so captivating that I was completely absorbed in the film. Even the stunts were realistic, unlike today, and will thrill any cinematic connoisseur.

This, along with the second part, is one of my two favourite films, which I own in every version and watch again and again to see more details. Both are independent masterpieces on all levels of cinematic artistry, Gene Hackman is a real delight as the big city cop, rude, smart in his own way and caught up in the super story.

I'm still as excited as the first day, which is really rather a statement.

It's so interesting to think about this from a different angle! It's true that the number of deaths caused by sharks is lower than those caused by humans on sharks. The great white shark is a great example of a species that can scare us a lot, and it's sadly threatened with extinction. This is a cause for concern for us as individuals, but it doesn't have any wider impact on human numbers.

He may not be Vincent van Gogh, and he may not be missing an ear, but the red of his lips is a sure sign we should all be on the lookout for! It's love in its purest form, fulfilling us in ways we never imagined.

But it must also be recognised and nurtured, because love is like a leather strap. If you don't take care of it, it will break at some point. Unconditional love is the total acceptance of the beloved creature's imperfection, and it's a gift that keeps on giving!

It is our moral obligation as human beings to extend love and compassion to those who may not deserve it, given the potential for their actions to be influenced by negative factors. A love of compassion for their inability to experience what love really means. A love of sorrow for the evil and hatred that fills them, whether out of malice or out of empathy, which may be a result of having been loved insufficiently during their childhood. Even the most malevolent individual, if they have not suffered from mental illness, was once a child in need of love. The loss of this person to a life of evil fills me with a deep love for the realisation of goodness.
