america is such an individualist, capitalist hellscape. as an immigrant with majority american friends i cannot even begin to describe how hypocritical people’s political beliefs are in conjunction to their daily lives. i have friends who are hardcore socialists/communists/leftists/mutual aid activists, but they shop fast fashion every week, are supporters of unnecessary cosmetic procedures for trans people, support the sex industry, and say gender/sexuality are 100% individual experiences that cannot be defined or shared.

collectivism is the answer—don’t buy into this shit. westerners really cannot comprehend the idea of solidarity or shared experiences past surface level. theoretical ideology will never hold a candle to your actual actions.
