Seriously, writing is isolating and lonely as a hobby or a career. It’s usually you alone with your characters in an insular world you’ve created yourself for days, weeks, and sometimes years at a time. If we choose to share that, it’s not only a gift it’s giving a way a vulnerable and intimate piece of ourselves the same as sharing a secret or a memory.

nobody shares their art to hear or see radio silence or numbers that equate to nothing. Yes, numbers don’t mean much when it’s not money. You can also send a DM. The best part of writing to an audience is the dialogue you start that can turn into community and friendships (like I’ve been fortunate enough to find here! Love y’all.) and that dialogue starts in the comments.
